My 19th Birthday and other things

Monday, January 25, 2010

Sorry about the late blog post! :) It’s been a while since I wrote my last post (hence the embarrassed picture of Tsukasa), the new year has been keeping me busy so far. I’m afraid that when I go back to university on Thursday I will become even busier (there goes all my free gaming time!). Since my last post I revised for and took exams, as you can imagine that stopped me from doing many of the things I enjoy. One of the exams was about Language and Communication the other was Social Interaction. I hope I have done okay in them as I am not a big fan of exams (hey, who is?), I much prefer writing essays as I can put more thought into them. I have also been spending time with Chris as when we are busy with work we don’t have as much time together. We had to make the most of the free time we had!

On the 21st it was my 19th birthday and I had a brilliant day. I didn’t ask for anything in particular as a present from my parents so my mum took me on a shopping spree. She bought me Bare Escentuals makeup (2 kits worth!), Clinique skin care products and clothes from Jane Norman (jeans, a top and a coat) and H&M (a cute dress). My brother Greg bought me a white bag, a scarf and some sweet pearl bracelets. By the time I came home I was exhausted from all the shopping but still very excited.  Shopping is so fun with my mum.

Chris then came to my house later and gave me some presents from him and his parents. He had bought me four lovely rings from Wallis, the new Lost Prophets CD (The Betrayed), some sweets in a mushroom, a Zelda toy and his parents had bought me two Fruits Basket mangas. I was over the moon to say the least. He really knows my tastes. Thank you Chris!

I have to say though the best thing about birthdays is cake, I had a yummy chocolate cake for mine. However I would have preferred one of mum’s home made ones. Oh well, just means I will have to pester her to make one or make one myself!

I saw the Sherlock Holmes film with Chris as well. It was pretty good, not one of the best films I’ve seen but definitely one you should watch at home. I’m only trying to save you money on the price for tickets. Students like me have to budget things (yeah right, I bought Tales of Symphonia 2 for the Wii a few days ago not to mention all the manga I’ve bought…).  :)

Tales of Symphonia 2 is a good game though and that is what I’ve been playing lately (along with Muramasa). I made a gaming page for you to see what games I own and also what I am currently playing. You should check that out. I own more games for the Gamecube and DS but I couldn’t be bothered to list them all! *laziness* I do plan to write reviews for games but I think I will leave that for until I get further into the game. Sometimes my opinion changes the more I play a game. You will just have to wait and see.

I’ve been reading a lot of manga lately too, including Fruits Basket. I love the manga, it is so much better than the anime (well most mangas are!). I should probably read more intellectual books but sometimes I prefer a book that is light and doesn’t require too much concentration. I bet you are slowing losing your confidence in me as an English Language university student. I am a good student (honest!) it’s just I’ve been on this break too long. My body clock is all messed up.

Oh and before I forget here are the Emu boots I mentioned in my last post. They are super warm and perfect for keeping my feet snug. I recommend them to anyone who loves good quality boots.

Awesome boots.

Right I think I have sufficiently ranted on here, if you read all of this post you have earned yourself a cyber cookie. Enjoy! I expect my next post will come a lot sooner than this one has. :)

Bye for now.

Say hello to 2010

Friday, January 01, 2010

Happy New Year everyone!! I’m sure you are all sick of hearing that by now. We have all waved goodbye to 2009 and hopefully we will welcome 2010 with open arms. I’m just happy because now I can say the year twenty ten (you know that sounds cool!). I have been busy looking through my old blog archives to compile a list of good times from last year. It’s amazing how many things I have forgotten, thanks for saving me archives!  So here is my list of all the good things that happened in 2009 (including links to blog posts!):

2009 seems like it was a busy year for me and I hope that 2010 is going to be just as good and hopefully even better. I don’t usually make resolutions as I never seem to be able to stick to them or I forget them (my memory is terrible). This year I want to study hard for university to make the most out of it and I also want to cut back on the sweets I eat (this one is going to be tough!). So what are you new years resolutions and do you think you’re going to stick to them?

Oh and just before I go I would like to say:

Happy Birthday Chris!

It’s my boyfriend’s 19th birthday today! I’m going to go to his house later and give him his presents/cards. :)

So once more I’m going to say Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a good 2009 and I hope this year is even better for you all.

PS. My new Emu boots came today. I will post pictures in my next blog!

Christmas 2009

Monday, December 28, 2009

Well Christmas is finally over, everyone can be free to breathe at last. I managed to get all of my Christmas shopping done on time and people were happy with what I’d got them so that was a big relief. I’m kind of sad really that Christmas passes by so quick as everyone is usually happier this time of year and I love all the decorations etc. But I don’t enjoy buying presents not because of the expense but because of the hectic shops where old grannies shove me and I have to watch out for prams running me over. Honestly if I could just get all of my presents of the Internet I would, but you can never really rely on the postal service around the winter season.

I got some brilliant gifts this year and I was surprised! I hadn’t really asked for many things in particular as I prefer to be surprised and after all it’s the thought that counts. So because I’m so nice I decided to take pictures to make this blog just that little bit better. First I will show you the pictures of what my mum and dad bought me as well as what my brother gave me.

One of the first gifts I opened was this lovely DKNY perfume called Be Delicious. It is so cute and looks just like a little green apple. It smells absolutely gorgeous! It came with a moisturiser as well that smells just like the perfume so now my hands can stay nice and soft while also smelling lovely.

 Be Delicious by DKNY

My parents also bought me some Philip Kingsley products as well as a Philip Kingsley paddle brush. I love these sort of gifts that are really useful. The brush feels super soft and doesn’t make my hair statically charged (an annoying side effect of plastic hair brushes *shudder*).

Philip Kingsley products from my parents.

Pictures below are some more presents from my parents including: some more perfume, the film Confessions of a Shopaholic and the book The time traveler’s wife. It’s a tradition every Christmas for my mum to buy me a Chick Flick to watch. It would be nice if I could get round to reviewing some of the chick flicks in my collection but it might take me a long time!

More presents from my parents.

My parents also got me this cute love heart watch and a little handbag.

presents from my parents.

They also bought me games of course! My brother bought me Muramasa.  Pictured here is Mini Ninja’s, Muramasa The Demon Blade and Broken Sword. This satisfies my gaming needs.

presents from my parents.

My mum bought me these sweet pyjamas too. I love the little polar bears on them.

So that just about wraps up (pardon the pun!) what my mum and dad bought me. The other gifts I got which I didn’t take pictures of were a new coat, a cream jumper from Jane Norman and a white scarf and gloves set.

I also got some amazing gifts from my boyfriend Chris and his parents. Pictured below is what Chris bought me. Some yummy Thornton's chocolates, a cute skull necklace, a Fruits Basket sticker book and the full Heroes box set (Squee!). He really knows my tastes! Thank you so much Chris!!

Gifts from my boyfriend Chris. :)

Chris’s parents also got me a great gift and I was really surprised that Chris told them I liked Robin Hood. They bought me the box set for the first series.

So that is all the presents I received this Christmas I also got sweets and a some chocolates but don’t expect to see pictures of them (they didn’t last long!).

Christmas day was brilliant, after opening all the presents we had our Christmas lunch in the conservatory. My mum had put heaters in to warm it up so we were all nice and toasty. I loved spending time like that with my family. Me and my brother Greg were having a good laugh. Later we all snuggled in the living room and watched a few films.

I hoped you all had a good Christmas too!

Christmas time, mistletoe and wine.

Tuesday, December 08, 2009

It is hard for me to begin writing a blog post after so long away from my website. I was sat at home today nearly falling asleep and just I was drifting in and out of my sleepy haze I thought: "Hmm, I haven't blogged in a while... ugh I shouldn't have eaten all those sugary cola bottles". Maybe you should forget that last part and maybe I shouldn't eat so many sweets. My dentist is going to have a fun time... Eek!

November has been a busy month for work, as I said in my last post I was writing an essay about human language. I managed to finish it and hand it in on time. I haven't yet received my mark for it but when I get it back I shall post it up here. I tried my best so I am really hoping for a good mark but if I pass I suppose I will be happy enough. Well I enjoyed writing it at the very least.

Also on the subject of university work, I completed a group presentation. It wasn't too bad apart from the fact I got slightly flustered and embarrassed. Hopefully no-one noticed even though I felt like my face was on fire and my heart was going to burst out of my chest. I don't enjoy speaking in front of a load of people, for some reason it makes me all nervous and I can't seem to say anything right.

University has been taking up a lot of my time but I do feel like I am finally getting settled there. I am finding my way around easily and I have already made some brilliant friends. It's a great big confidence boost as far as I'm concerned and gives me something to work towards. Now all I need to do is pass my driving test and my life will be complete. Speaking of driving I have had over 35 hours of driving experience so it shouldn't be too long now before I take my test. I'm getting excited just thinking about it (haha!).

I saw the film New Moon in November too and I found it to be pretty enjoyable. Then again, I'm not a hardcore film critic and I never will be. Bear in mind this is coming from a girl who loves chick flicks. So I recommend it to anyone who likes having a giggle and watching cool CGI wolves (I just love wolves). Chris took me to see it and I got to snuggle up with him which is always a plus.

Christmas is well and truly upon us now and I have been trying and failing at getting my shopping done. I just don't like being swamped in the shopping centre. But what I do love about Christmas is all the decorations, yummy home baking, presents, songs and ... mistletoe. I need to get some of that to ambush Chris with! I'm just joking, honest!

So I'm sorry for being away for so long and I shall try to keep up with my posts. Oh and just before I go, tell me one thing you like about Christmas. I want to compile a list! hehe :)

Essay: Is human language innate?

Sunday, November 15, 2009

Well as I said in my previous brief post I have been busy with university work. I'm currently writing an essay about whether human language is innate. It has been a productive day today as I have reached my target amount of work today and done above and beyond really. My mum has been really supportive throughout all of this and so has Chris so I would like to take this opportunity to thank them both. I don't think I could have done it without them. :)

100th Post

Friday, November 13, 2009

Yes this is officially my 100th blog post on Kihugs.com. I'm feeling pretty proud about that. (^.^)
I've really enjoyed having Kihugs as my little home on the Internet and I hope we have many more years together. I'll try not to get too sentimental here!
I feel like I've made some great friends online and met some brilliant bloggers/web designers. All I can say is that I'm glad I stuck with this blog and worked to improve it and make it what it is today. Thanks to all my visitors who come and read my blogs. It really makes me smile when I hear about people visiting Kihugs.

I first had the idea for Kihugs in late 2006 back when I had a site called Cosmic Passion. I even made a layout for it and had it as sort of a secondary site:

This was the first layout I made for Kihugs. I was really into cutesy things at the time and most of my layouts featured bunnies.

After that I began to learn more HTML and toy around with other layouts. I eventually left I-frames behind and the whole kind of 'graphics' community. I began to focus more on my writing and realised that I actually preferred blogging rather than designing graphics/writing tutorials for other people.

I gave Kihugs lots of different looks and I eventually came to this one. Nice and minimalistic but with a touch of pink (you can never have too much pink).

I feel like I have come pretty far with this blog, it is practically my online journal where I write all my musings. hehe

So thanks for visiting Kihugs and give me a cookie because this is my 100th post you know. :)

I wuv Hello Kitty

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Today has been a busy day for me and I still haven't done half as much reading as I would have liked to have done. I really need to break this writers block I'm currently having and get back into my work. I keep having little breaks all the time and what would be best would be to work without get distracted!

While I was on one of my breaks I decided to have a look around Internet shops and I found an adorable website (Artbox) with loads of Hello Kitty products. Even though Miffy will always be my favourite, I can't help but love Hello Kitty.

Here are some of my favorite things off the site:

1) Hello Kitty watch.

This watch is adorable and I love the oriental style of it.

2) Hello Kitty Tartan Beanie (made by TY!)

When I was little I collected loads of TY beanie babies. This is one I would defiantly want to add to my collection.

3) Hello Kitty Mousemat and Optical USB Mouse

Yes I know I am silly. But seriously who can resist this mouse. haha (^.^);;

Bye for now.

Respect your elders

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

complex7 Today has been another typical cold day. It is worrying because If I’m finding it cold now, imagine what it will be like when January rolls around. Not fun.

I caught the bus this morning, like I do every morning, and as I stepped on I noticed that the evil old granny was not there. Now I’m telling you she is evil because every time I get on the bus back from university she sits there watching me.

I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that I wouldn’t be stared at for at least this one bus journey. Evil granny likes to sit in a corner and shoot me cold stares like as if I’m a troublesome youth who is going to steal her handbag. What I don’t understand is why I would steal her handbag when I have my own which is quite obviously filled with books/work.

Sometimes I sit there and wonder to myself what it is about my appearance that gives her this impression. Maybe I look dangerous with my fluffy scarf, pink IPod and language books (trust me, some of the books I carry are pretty heavy). Whereas other times I just stare at her as much as she stares at me to see who will crack first under the pressure.

I probably should respect my elders more…

“Yeah, as if granny! You have not won the battle yet!”

Vlog 1: Samsung Genio Touch

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Well it looks like Youtube has decided to work for me today and I have been able to upload my short video review of my new phone. It is more a video of my initial thoughts rather than a full in-depth review. I recorded it using my webcam so I apologize for the sound quality, hopefully you can hear me. Also there is a slight bit of interference from the phone connecting to the service provider but that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I recorded this review a couple of days ago so I feel more adjusted to the phone now. As I have stated in the video, I think it is a really good phone and it is simple to use. I have yet to encounter any problems with it.
I would recommend the phone to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive touch screen phone and who doesn't want one that is overloaded with unnecessary features. Lets not forget its main function here. :)

Yes this is one of my first video logs in a while. I may record another one but I'm not sure. I might just do them for reviews of things I buy. I prefer to blog about my life rather than talk about it!

At the moment I am currently writing an essay for one of my module assignments. It is pretty intense and I have quite a bit of reading to do. So please bear with me!

Bye for now.

Youtube is not working

Monday, November 09, 2009

Hi everyone, sorry for a late post tonight. I have recorded a video review of my new phone and I was trying to upload it to Youtube for the past few hours. For whatever reason it is not working. I'm going to try again tomorrow but if it still doesn't work I shall just type up the review and post it instead. :)

So I shall bring you a review and a quick update on me tomorrow!

Goodnight. xxx

Cute pink phone

Saturday, November 07, 2009

I've been studying my grammar book, Rediscover Grammar by David Crystal, today and have been trying to understand noun phrases, prepositional phrases and so on. It is a lot more complicated than you think it is because I didn't really do a lot of grammar in school. I can only say that I learned the basics in primary school and that is about as far as it went really. I'm glad that the book is broken down into small sections instead of huge walls of text (that would really give me a headache!). Apart from that, today has been pretty relaxing. I feel like I have finally caught up on my sleep so I should feel refreshed to do some more work tomorrow. (^.^)

I've also been looking at phones on the Internet and I think I have decided on one I like...

It is called the Samsung Genio Touch and it is a pretty cute touch screen phone. I love Samsung as a brand and this phone is a brilliant price too. What I like about it is that it has a normal T9 keypad on it for texting instead of a Qwerty keypad. Don't get me wrong, I do like Qwerty keypads it is just that I prefer T9 keypads for texting. I guess I'm weird like that. (^.^);;

It has a modest 2mp camera which is fine for me as I don't take loads of photos anyway and it takes pretty decent pictures. It also has a radio on it which I'm super happy about because my old phone doesn't have one (I love listening to the radio! haha).

If you want to view its full specs then go to this website.

Also here is a video review I found:

It is not too detailed but you can see the phone in action. I think it is going to be a good phone for me as I don't really want to be paying a lot for a new phone. My student budget owns my soul. (T.T)

Let me know what you think!

Bye for now.

Bonfire Night

Thursday, November 05, 2009

Just a quick blog tonight. I think that things are picking up. Today wasn't so bad, I had a laugh in my seminars today and the person who I was talking about is being nice to me. I will keep you all updated of course. Thank you to everyone who has been wishing me well (especially, Shola, Christine and Rose).

Happy Bonfire Night everyone, hope you all had a good time. I just stayed at home, it's too cold to go outside in my opinion! I think the autumn weather is getting to me. I really need to go and buy a winter coat before it gets even colder. British winters are brutal you know! (^.^);;

Take care!

Rainy Day

Wednesday, November 04, 2009

I apologize in advance for my boring entry today. It's been all rainy and murky today, not nice at all and it hasn't really left me in good spirits.

I've been sort of wandering around and not really paying attention to my surroundings. I suppose having an argument yesterday has left me in a numb condition. I didn't even bother getting lunch today, which is really weird for me. Usually I can't resist the smell of freshly made sandwiches.

I was feeling pretty down in the dumps when I was in the library trying to study. I'd waited around hoping I could see someone but they were busy. I was practically holding back tears which made my eyes burn in protest.

I am just hoping that something good will come out of all this, but oh well I just have to get on with it. I can't let things get me down and upset. I'm sure I will be back to my normal cheery self soon enough. *positive vibes*

Until next time.

PS. I'm still blogging everyday! Don't worry I haven't lost my motivation (yet!). (^.^)b

Awkward Much?

Tuesday, November 03, 2009

Hello everyone, I'm back blogging today even though I don't feel too brilliant. Isn't is rubbish how when you have an arguement with someone it seems to dwell on your mind for the rest of the day. That is what happened to me today. I felt about as sad as Tsukasa does up there when she broke the cookie in half.

Even my driving instructor said I looked a little tense and I admitted to her that it was because I had had an argument and I couldn't concentrate.

However once I had relaxed a little bit, and pushed all thoughts of the person to the back of my head, I felt better. I managed to do all the maneuvers swiftly and accurately.  I was actually praised a lot for my driving today, so I'm feeling pleased with myself. :)

All that remains is the possibility of seeing said person tomorrow. It is not an experience I'm looking forward too as I just know the atmosphere will be awkward.

Wish me luck. (^.^);;

Tearful films. :’(

Monday, November 02, 2009

Wah! I watched the film ‘Save the Last Dance’ today. It is a sad film about a girl whose mother has died in an accident and how, through finding love, she pursued her dream of being a prima ballerina.

I always say to myself during these types of films that I will not cry but when sad music comes on (and I think about what would happen if it was me in that situation) the tears begin to well up. I guess it is just because I have come to care for the characters so it hurts to see them upset. Its like they have become real people rather than just characters. I suppose those are the makings of a good film though, right?

Some people feel embarrassed when they cry during a sad film. Personally I don’t think it is embarrassing to show a bit of emotion. After all I don’t have a swinging brick for a heart. I’m actually a pretty sensitive person when it comes to sad films.

I remember when me and Chris first saw the film ‘Marley & Me’. Anything to do with animals being hurt or someone losing a pet always makes me cry!

Maybe I’m weak-willed like that… (^.^);;

Have you watched any tearful films lately?

And what do you think to people crying during sad films? Do you cry?

Feel free to share your stories below.

November Blogging Month

Sunday, November 01, 2009

Hello, how are you all this fine evening? (^.^)

I am very pleased to be telling you that its that time of year where the ‘November Blogging month’ is upon us. I’m viewing it as a real challenge so I stay motivated to do it, as you know my blogging habits could be described as pretty sporadic. Last year I successfully completed the challenge and this year I’m hoping to do just as well.

If you would like to take part then pop on over to Oh-Vintage to check out the details. You need to do this fairly quickly as the challenge has already started today. It would be great if you could put this banner at the top of your first post; basically just to help with promoting the challenge and to let people know you’re taking part.

Now that’s all clear I shall get on with my blog!

Yesterday I went to the theatre to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast with Chris. It was a belated present for our 3 years of being together. All I can say is, what a show! It was brilliant. The actors, the singing/dancing, stage effects, orchestra and atmosphere was amazing. I was really glad that we had got tickets early as we had perfect seats where we could see everything.

It also helped that I was with Chris as it was so romantic (he bought us ice-cream during the intermission and he looked gorgeous with his new glasses on). So thanks Chris for making that a wonderful evening and night (I stayed over at his house!). We even slept in this morning, it just goes to show that we are both not morning people.

In my last post I said that I had a bad cold and you’ll be happy to know that it has long since cleared up. Finally I can breathe easily again and I don’t have to act like a geeky mouth breather (actually I’m still geeky… but in a sexy way, yes?).

University has been keeping me busy and I have a huge reading list to get through. I’m doing a bit of research for an essay I’m going to write. I’m not entirely sure which topic I should do, its between a child language acquisition question or the “is language innate” question. I’m so indecisive. Is anyone else indecisive or is it just me? (^.^);;

While I’ve not been reading books I’ve been browsing around on the Internet and behold I have found something I want.

The latest thing I want:

Yes, it is a pink DS Lite (don’t act like you didn’t know it was going to be pink!). Don’t get me wrong, I love my big DS but its just that the screens are so much brighter on Lites. Plus they weigh less so that means it won’t break my hands after I spend hours playing on it. This isn’t really a want but more of a need. A gamer like me should never be without the required equipment. Maybe my parents will buy it me for my birthday (hint, hint).

I also need a new phone but I can’t decide which one to get. I guess I’m just fussy like that. (#^.^#)

Well I’m going now, but I shall return tomorrow!

Take care. xx

Good Morning (?)

Thursday, October 22, 2009

omnom Do you ever find that the longer you sleep in the more tired you are when you wake up? For instance this morning when I woke up at 10:30 I found myself feeling just as tired as I would do if I woke up at 7:30. I don’t understand. Surely more hours of sleep equals more awake…ness? Maybe its my internal clock telling me that I’ve have too much sleep and therefore I must be punished.

So this morning I woke up with my hair stuck up at a weird angle and my eyes welded together by sleep. I slowly opened my eyes and shifted my gaze to my pink clock; 10:30 was staring back at me. Stupid clock. It must have been wrong, I still felt sleepy. I turned over in my bed and snuggled in the folds of my duvet. It was so warm and cosy. It practically felt like a sin when I had to stick my foot out of my bed and put it on the cold wood floor.

I sat up and bravely put my other foot on the floor and shivered a little. The worst part was yet to come. I slowly peeled the duvet off and felt a sudden rush of cold.  I quickly moved myself away from my bed (so I wouldn’t chicken out) and turned back to look at it with a tear in my eye. Don’t worry I wasn't crying, I had just yawned and my eyes were watering.

I tip-toed around my bedroom and began opening the curtains. Sunlight darted across the floor and slowly began to wake the rest of my room up.  I felt awake at last. I gave in to one final stretch and caught sight of myself in the mirror.

“What is going on with my hair? Are those eye crustys? What should I have for breakfast… ”.

Don’t you just love mornings.

*

University today was a blur, to say the least. Maybe it is the fact that I have been struck down by a sore throat, thick headache and stuffy nose. Having a cold can seriously effect my ability to concentrate. I found myself staring quite misty eyed at my lecturer and allowing all sorts of random thoughts to pop into my head.

“Oh look at that bus outside, it says Free Bee on it. Haha I get it, its a play on the expression freebie. I love how they’ve drawn a cute little bee on it too. It looks happy”.

My lecturer coughed and I shuffled in my seat. I was sort of doing little shuffles every now and then to generate heat. It was pretty cold in the room and I thought that it is only going to get colder when winter decides to come into full swing. I sniffled and decided to distract myself from that depressing thought. I glanced at the girl on the opposite side of the room. She had a bottle of some sort of energy drink in front of her, well I’m guessing that it was an energy because it was electric blue (either that or our water has become so polluted it has turned neon).

I turned back to the lecturer and he was continuing to talk about word classes and other grammatical things. I used all my willpower trying to listen to him and trying to make him interesting, but to no avail. Unfortunately no matter how much I tried I couldn’t make nouns, verbs and adjectives seem like a trip to Disneyland.

*

I arrived home after the intense mind-numbing session… I mean I arrived home after university at 6:00. I stumbled my way through the front door and clumsily took off my boots. I could hear the faint babble on the TV from the kitchen and made my way in.

My mum was busying herself cleaning and as always the kitchen look immaculate.

“Now you wouldn’t get this in student accommodation”, I thought and I plonked myself down at the table.

I promptly told my mum about my extremely long day and by the end of our conversation I felt lighter. My mum hugged me and I soon felt like it was only the start of my day. I was refreshed.

“Now if only I could bottle that and market it as some sort of aid to waking up in a morning”.

Of course I’m joking.

I am a morning person.

It’s just that my mornings start later…

It begins

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Well I finally enrolled at university yesterday. Today I went in for a few social activities and I have decided that it is time to fill you all in on how it is going!

 Sheffield Hallam University

Yesterday I arrived at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) with mixed emotions. I was nervous because the building was huge, however I was excited because it was the start of my student life. I was also impressed that the whole thing seemed to be organised (I didn’t get swept into the crowd!). There were lots of people around to help so I soon began to feel more confident in my surroundings.

Blackwell Bookshop SHU is not just one building but more like a block of buildings which are close together which makes it seem like one huge building. I loved the bookshop (Blackwell) that was right next to the university, all the crisp new books just waiting to be read! I actually treated myself to a book while I was there entitled Language:The Basics by R.L.Trask. There were other books that I wanted too, including a grammar book by David Crystal. I was surprised to find that they even had a manga section (that is such a bad distraction for me!).

The first activity of the day was the welcome assembly in which a few course leaders introduced themselves then it was time to enrol (after a 3 hour break in which I explored the shops!). The enrolment process went pretty smoothly, the only annoying thing was the queue I had to stand in for 20 minutes (I really hate queuing). An administrator signed my enrolment form and checked that all my grade certificates were okay before letting me proceed to get my student card.

My student card is really cool because it allows me to get discounted travel, get into certain clubs as well as other perks I have yet to discover. Everyone was complaining how they looked bad in their photos on the cards because the pictures were taken by a webcam on the same day (let’s just say it was a particular windy day). Mine doesn’t look so bad but then again I have had worse experiences with ID cards. My student card

After collecting my student card I was free to go home for the day, it was great because it was only early in the afternoon. I walked some of the way with Chris and we got a lift home the rest of the way. I took a few pictures of us out and about. I also grabbed a classic hot chocolate from Starbucks (with cream!).

Today was mainly activities in which we were meant to socialise with out peers and course leaders. I also have found out what my timetable is like and it is nice. I have every alternate Monday off which is brilliant because I hate waking up on Mondays with a passion.

Me looking shy and in need of a haircut! :P

Tomorrow I have a couple of class activities to do and then I finish at 12 noon leaving me free to enjoy the activities/societies fair. Hopefully there will be some I can join as I really want to get involved with lots of fun things. I would need to join something which I can plan around my studying and driving lessons.

Don’t worry as I will keep you updated on Kihugs and on my Twitter page.

So I shall take my leave now as I don’t want to stay up too late tonight. I will leave you with a final picture of me looking shy for whatever reason (credit goes to Chris for taking the picture!).

Bye bye! :)

PS: Contestants are still needed for the Site Glamour Contest. It is hosted by Dayna at Amour Chaleur and there are lots of prizes to be won!

Hallam, here I come!

Tuesday, September 08, 2009

complex72 Clicking the "New Post" button just gave me tingles. Seriously, it has been that long since I last blogged cobwebs are forming on my Blogger Dashboard. I think it is time I brushed them off, gave my blog a dust down and got back in the blogging spirit.

The one thing which has probably effected how much I have blogged is the summer. The summer months are a brilliant time for students, a time in which we relax and energize ourselves for the up coming academic year. Unfortunately in my case this just simply means lazing around all day.

Fear not for while I have not been blogging I have been busying myself with other activities. For example my driving lessons, which have been going pretty well. Hopefully you will have seen me driving around (I know I have an awesome I-am-concentrating face).

I have also been hanging out a lot with Chris. During such times we have either eaten out, been shopping, watched films, played on my Wii or his Xbox or just generally mooched around.

My exam results came back from college on the 20th of August. It was a great day simply because I got the results I needed and also because I was interviewed for our local radio. My reaction to opening my exam results was played on the radio to I don't know how many homes. It doesn't get much more exciting than that!

My exam results were:

  • English Language - B
  • Media Studies - B
  • ICT - B
  • Archaeology - C

You will agree that those are great results yes? I worked so hard in my final year at college so I feel I thoroughly got what I deserved. :)
I am now preparing myself for university which starts on the 22nd of September with my induction day/enrolment. I plan to take pictures and of course I will write a blog documenting the day!

I got into my first choice of university which is the Sheffield Hallam University. I am going to study (BA Hons) English Language as a full time degree. I can't wait! The student union looks brilliant too, I actually want to get my own little hoodie (which they have available in pink!).

So wish me luck for uni. The plan is to study hard and party hard (maybe not so much of the latter! haha).

The Ugly Truth

Saturday, August 08, 2009

the-ugly-truth Hey everyone, ready for your Saturday dose of craziness?  … I thought you were!

I went and saw the film “The Ugly Truth” a couple of days ago and it was anything but ‘ugly’ (see what I did there?). The film was a typical romantic comedy. It had highs, lows and non-stop laughs in between. It also manage to satisfy my romantic side and even left me a little bit tearful at times (courtesy of Gerard Butler’s brilliant performance).

The story centers around the control freak of a woman, Abby Richter (Katherine Heigl). She has a cat, OCD and enjoys researching into a mans background before she decides if he matches her checklist of the ideal man. This makes her (unsurprisingly) quite unsuccessful regarding love and relationships. She goes home after another disaster of a date where she sees on TV a programme called “The Ugly Truth” in which the presenter, Mike Chadway (Gerard Butler), gives out relationship advice in the most cynical way possible. Abby phones into the show and has a huge on-air argument with Mike about how not all men are as chauvinistic as he is.

Eventually it ends up with the two having to work at the same TV Station. The two spark a love-hate relationship when Mike agrees to help Abby bag her dream man, the very cute doctor Colin (Eric Winter). Soon Mike finds himself falling for Abby (and this is where I tell you no more!).

The film is full of laughs and silly moments which you won’t forget (for instance Abby’s ‘spazzy dance’). If you enjoy chick flicks and romantic comedies then this is the film for you. It subverts away from the clichés of most romantic comedies and provided the audience with a few surprises along the way.

I would personally give the film a rating of 5 hearts out of 5. It was brilliant and no that’s not just because I love Katherine Heigl’s acting. The film wasn’t too long either (which is always a plus!). My attention span is brilliant at the best of times so knowing that I don’t have to sit down for three hours to watch a film makes me very happy indeed!

he9

he9he9he9he9

- Rated as: A must see.

The screen that we (Me, Shola and Aisha) saw the film in was brilliant. It was one of the larger screens and I thought I was going to get vertigo from climbing all the way up to our seats. But once I’d settled down with my bottle of Cherry Coke and the film had started I was lost. Lost in a sea of happiness, as if all of my troubles had disappeared.

After the film we were practically starving and decided to brisk walk over to the nearest Subway. This wasn’t without its randomness. The guy serving us was flirting (really badly, might I add. I mean come on, is there such thing as subtlety?), the banter we had was hilarious, Shola bought me a cookie (which I didn’t realise was there until half an hour later!) and a giant moth dive-bombed my head.

So I suppose I would just like to take this moment to thank my friends Shola and Aisha for being scared of moths (as I have never walked out of Subway so fast in my life and actually been relieved). Thank you, you two rock.

Well I think I have sufficiently talked your ear off.

My questions for today are:

Are you scared of insects? And what are your tactics for dealing with said flying/crawling monstrosities?

Until next time, I bid you a good night. :)

Okami is made of awesome

Sunday, August 02, 2009

I’m getting my hair cut tomorrow and it’s about time too. My hair is so long now and needs, how should I say it, neatening. I’m also getting it dyed again. I’m having my pink streaks removed and having different tones of brown. I’m going for a sexy brunette kind of look and I think it would go well with my glasses (cue my boyfriend’s glasses fetish). It would also enhance my natural colour, which is always a good thing. Perhaps I’ll put pictures up tomorrow, I don’t know, depends if I can be bothered to take them. I’m not much of a camera lover.

Today I’ve been busy playing on my Nintendo Wii. I’ve been playing this game called Okami (I bought it pre owned for only £20!). It is a really addictive game and I love making little drawings on the screen with my celestial paintbrush. Here’s a quick synopsis of the game:

okami wii“Based on rich and varied Japanese mythology, Okami combines the all action gameplay of the Wii with the most unique and visually stunning game world and characters. Play as the wolf incarnation of the Japanese sun god, Amaterasu, and channel your divine power through the mighty celestial paintbrush to restore beauty and order to a bleak world overrun by evil. Fight against powerful enemies, use the Wii Remote to slash through wood, rock and demon foe. You'll also need to be smart enough to solve puzzles and create images in the game world that will come to life to assist you in your quests”.

It is a stunning game, I love the Japanese drawing style graphics and the music is brilliant. I found myself humming along to the music as I was beating enemies with Amaterasu (or as I call her, Ammy-Chan). If you own a Nintendo Wii, I highly recommend this game as it is really fun. If you enjoy RPG’s, such as The Legend of Zelda series, than this is for you.

Hopefully I’ll manage to pull myself away from gaming long enough to keep you all updated!

My question for today is: Do you own a console (E.g. Xbox, Playstation, Wii) and if so, what are your favourite games for it?

So, I shall say sayonara for now. :)

Making the most of things

Thursday, July 30, 2009

I have officially succeeded in disappearing for a month, hopefully never again. I can’t say this is one of the best months I have had and this summer hasn’t really been shaping up so good. But I have tired to make the best of my situation and get on with my life. What I really need is to de-stress, a holiday would be nice.

I’ve been learning how to drive. I mentioned in my last blog post that I was studying up. It’s been going pretty well and by that I mean I haven’t managed to drive the car into a hedge! It has made me feel a lot more independent as it is something I am doing solely for myself. I’m looking forward to when I can jump in my car and drive wherever I want to go.

I saw a couple of films this month, including Bruno and Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince. Bruno was shockingly funny and I had to watch most of the film between my fingers as I often put my hands over my eyes. Harry Potter was pretty good as well although it was a bit of a let down when some of the plot lines of the book were missed out. However, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint is enough to spur me on to go watch the films as I really enjoy their acting!

Sorry for only the short post here, but I will try not to disappear again (at least not without a little message first!). Hope your summers have been going well.

Come back to the Blogosphere

Thursday, May 28, 2009

“Larissa has disappeared off the face of the Blogosphere”.

Hello readers! Remember me? (insert tumbleweed here)

Well as I mentioned in a previous post (and on several other occasions) I have been busy with revising for exams, which are approaching fast. I have three weeks left until everything is finished and by that I mean all of my exams and university preparations will be done.

I am looking forward to being free from work and stress. I can then concentrate on other things I want to do, such as learning how to drive, getting a part time job, spending time with Chris and blogging. I feel like because of exams everything I want to do has to be put on hold, even though I know it will all pay off in the end when (if!) I get good results. Don’t worry I will be sure to inform you all of my results when I get them, so wish me luck. :)

I will also apologise for my neglect to return comments/visit blogs as often as I should. I only manage comment when I am on a break or have 5 minutes to spare.

Moving on, the title of my post is “Come back to the Blogosphere” simply because I hate it when bloggers disappear for months and don’t post to explain if they’re coming back or the reason why they’re away. I check their blogs because I’m subscribed and I like reading them. I find it disappointing when I visit a website which is literally dead.

Can you relate to this? Share any experiences you have had in the comment box below.

Bye for now. xx

[edit] For those of you who are wondering, my final exam is on the 18th of June and finishes at 15:30 (GMT). I will be officially free after that time. :) [/edit]

Cool and Spicy

Thursday, May 07, 2009

“Why hello there blog, how are you?”

“Me? I’m not too bad thanks. Sorry I haven’t wrote in a while, been kind of busy”.

That is how a conversation with Kihugs would go seen as I haven’t blogged in nearly a month. As I said in my previous blog, I have been busy with college work. I’ve been writing essays and working on my coursework which unfortunately takes up most of my time. It is all preparation for exams and gaining good grades for university, so I’m not all that sorry that I haven’t had time for much else. College work, in my opinion, takes priority over everything apart from family matters (and Chris!).

Shugo_chara wallpaper1

In between working non-stop and sleeping I haven’t been up to that much. I’ve been watching anime. I’m really enjoying this particular one called ‘Shugo Chara Doki!’. It’s a continuation of the series ‘Shugo Chara!’ which I finished watching before this new series. I mentioned the anime before in a previous blog but I stopped watching it after a few episodes because I couldn’t find the English subtitled version anywhere.

I managed to find this really good anime website (ask me for the URL!) which has a lot of different Japanese anime uploaded (all of them are subtitled in English). So I managed to watch the whole of Shugo Chara! and all of the latest episodes of Shugo Chara Doki!. I’m really happy because it is such a good series and I prefer original Japanese anime as opposed to the American dubbed versions (this doesn’t mean I rule out all dubbed anime though!).

The anime is more of a magical-girl kind of anime so I would say that if you like love stories, cute voices and lots of pink then this anime would be for you. :)

I would also like to say that I am absolutely addicted to the songs in this anime. In both of the series there are brilliant songs. My favourites are My Boy and Shugo! Shugo!, but there are loads more that I like too.

I might be going to the cinema tomorrow with Chris, I think we are going to see that Wolverine film. So I will blog and tell you if it is any good when I come back. If we decide to go, it’s going to be in this cinema that has sofas you can sit on. I plan to give a review on the whole experience and whether it is really worth going as I have never been in a cinema that has sofas instead of the more traditional style seats. It should be fun! :)

I ordered a necklace a few days ago. It is a personalised one in the shape of a heart which as a scroll across the front of it. I decided to buy the necklace with my name on in the scroll because, as you can imagine, I have difficulty seeing anything that has my name on in the shops. It is being made in a shop in London and then will be sent to me, I can’t wait! I will put a picture up when I get it.

Well I think I’ve pretty much talked your ears off, so I shall be going now. Bye! :)

My question for today is:

What are your plans for this weekend? Going anywhere nice?

Am I being too modest?

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

I love trying out the image effects on this blogging software, just been amusing myself with it for the past half hour. Hence the picture on the left. It has a “Polaroid effect” on it.

Today in English Language we were analysing children’s books and how they are written. For example, looking at the sentence structure, layout on the page and semantic fields.

It brought back memories of my dad reading to me when I was younger. He used to read me a story every night until I could read better than him!

I’m really proud that I got interested in reading from a young age, I think it helped fuel my passion for writing.

Yesterday I was asked to read one of my pieces of writing out to the class. I was super nervous and I insisted that my piece was lame and not worth reading out. I was graded an A+ on that piece. It was a review of a made-up novel entitled ‘Jack and Jill’ (like the nursery rhyme).

I have no idea why I put myself down like that, I think its just because of the pressure of reading it out made me feel nervous and embarrassed. My hands were shaking and my voice was wobbling.

Part of my review contained an ‘extract’ from the made-up book which was sort of a mushy scene detailing how Jill first fell in love with Jack. In all honesty I was just describing me and my boyfriend Chris. I wrote about how Jill loved Jack’s cheeky smile (which is what I love about Chris!). Maybe because I was thinking about Chris that is what made me blush.

It’s strange how I managed to relate something back to my boyfriend in that piece even though I wasn’t particularly thinking about him at the time.

When I get my work back I will put the review on here so you can see it for yourselves. :)

My question for  today is:

Have you ever been in a similar situation where you have felt embarrassed or nervous and how did you deal with it?

Sunny weather at last

Monday, March 23, 2009

It's been nice and sunny today which makes a change from the usual cold British weather. While I was in college I kept glancing out of the window in class, wishing that I was outside enjoying the sun rather than inside with it shining through and burning my back.

I thought to myself that even if I was outside instead of working I probably wouldn't get a tan. I have fair skin and I burn very easily. Whenever I go somewhere hot abroad I have to wear SPF50 suncream. Suncream may be sticky and a bit of a chore to put on but I'd rather have that on then be wearing a itchy burn on my face (not a good look!).

Lately I've been playing on my new Nintendo Wii on Animal Crossing: Let's go to the City. I bought a Wii after I came back from New York. I'd been wanting to buy one for a while and I finally had enough money to be able to afford one. Trust me things are not cheap with the current state of Britain's economy!

Below are a couple of pictures I took while I was playing the game. Animal Crossing has this camera feature on it that allows you to take screen shots of the game while your playing it. If you own a SD memory card you can save the pictures to it and then upload them to your computer. Pretty cool huh?

At least I can enjoy the sunny weather on the Wii and catch some butterflies while I'm there. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys RPGs and basically just taking it easy. The game is set at a relaxed pace and has peaceful music that is quite soothing. :)

Another thing I like about the Nintendo Wii is the the cute Mii characters that you can create. A Mii is a little character that is supposed to represent yourself. Here is mine:

I think I got the eyeshadow right! I always wear brightly coloured eyeshadow. I kind of wish I could have customised the hair a bit more, so I could have put my pink streaks in. Oh well. :)

I plan to try and blog everyday. I noticed that at one point I blogged all the time and I really miss doing that. I just seem to get nervous before I post a blog because I think no one will read it!

My questions for you today are:

1) What factor suncream do you wear? Do you burn easily?
2) Do you prefer hot or cold weather? Why?
3) Do you own a Nintendo Wii? Can you recommend me any good games that you like?

I heart New York

Sunday, March 15, 2009

New York. In one word: AMAZING. I had the best time ever there it is impossible for me to describe everything. If you kept up to date with the Media blog (the link is in my previous post) then you will know about all the fun things we did there.

Would I want to go back? Definitely. But maybe in the summer time when it is not so cold, it was brutally cold there and many of us had rashes!

I had a great experience there and it was so much fun with all my friends. The only thing I'm going to miss is having a laugh everyday with them. Most of us are in different classes so there are not a lot of times where we are together as a big group.

Thanks everyone for the brilliant experience. :)

Just on a side note, I am returning to Kihugs. Catch up work and projects have been eating up my time but I will try to make time to blog and tell you about my antics.

Much love

New York tomorrow

Friday, February 27, 2009

Well, if you haven't already read from my friend Flow's blog at The Syrup, I am going to "New York New York" tomorrow. I'm sorry for not blogging in a while, I've been busy packing and all that jazz.

I got my toiletries and undies all packed, plus the Chelsea shirt that Chris has lent me. I've just got to put my clothes in and I'm all sorted. I will be leaving for New York tomorrow morning at 6:00 AM (GMT) and I am not looking forward to that early start!

I will be going with my friend Flow as well as other Media and Film A-level students who we know. It will be a good experience and I can't wait to get off that plane and take my first steps in that amazing place.

To me New York is a city I have only seen in films, like a set. It has this glamorous feel about it and makes me feel like I will be walking on one of the most famous sets of all time.

I will take lots of pictures and video the trip so you will be able to see how much I enjoyed myself.

I am going to miss Chris a lot, it's one of the longest times I have been without any contact at all from him. Phone calls cost a lot overseas so I won't be able to phone him or my parents. He will be able to keep up to date with my antics on the New York Blog:

That's the address above if you want to check it out. :)

Well I will say goodbye for now!

I will miss you all and look forward to blogging about it when I come back (haha!).

Lot's of love,

Hugs and Kisses.

Free Hugs Meme

Sunday, February 22, 2009

I felt like doing a random meme. It is a questions and answers meme in which you hug people instead of tagging them (kind of the same thing really!). So here goes..

1) You’ve been a web designer for ______ years?

I would say about 6 years, I first became interested in web pages and their design when I was 12. I opened up a graphics site on Freewebs and the layout was a poorly constructed I-frames one. I stuck with I-frames for a while until I learned how bad they were and I finally converted to Div layouts.

2) When was the last time you cried?

A while ago. I was quite stressed and I suppose I just reached breaking point. Luckily I have Chris to cheer me up. :)

3) What are three things you absolutely hate?

- Rainy days because they are always dull and cold.
- Catching buses. They stink and never turn up when they're suppose too!
- Arrogant people. There is being confident and then there is being stuck up your own- you get the idea. :)

4) What was the weirdest thing that happened to you today

Me and Chris invented a new game while we were chatting on the phone. Our whole conversation was kind of weird really but we have a good sense of humor.

5) Do you like your name?

Yeah I do. I used to not like it because people would always say it wrong or spell it wrong which was annoying. I think my name makes me unique as I don't know anyone with the same name as me.

I was hugged by the lovely Georgie, visit her website (heartdrops) for tons of awesome resources and helpful reviews.

The instructions for this meme are simple:

Copy the directions & questions.
Answer the Questions. Add to your blog/site with directions.
Hug other people! Link name with site. Mentions who hugged you.

The questions are the ones I answered above. I hug everyone who wants to do this meme because I'm lazy like that.

Valentines Day Fun!

Sunday, February 15, 2009

Happy Belated Valentines Day! I hope you all had a brilliant day and got loads of chocolates.

I went out with Chris to the cinema and we watched "The curious case of Benjamin Button". It's a good film and it was quite romantic being all snuggled up together watching it. Imagine this typical kind of scene: girl leaning on boy's shoulder, looking into each others eyes, a lot of "I'm so happy right now" faces. Yeah, it was bliss.

I suppose the only thing that ruined it was my bladder. The film was 3 hours long and I'd drank Coke. A lot of Coke. It got to this one scene where water was gushing in all over the floor. Cool, running water. Chris glanced and me and looked quite concerned. I was squirming around like a five year old. I whispered under my breath, "I need to pee" and he tried not to laugh. It was my fault for drinking a lot and Chris just found it highly amusing.

I managed to hold it and we both staggered out of the cinema after the film complaining about how our legs felt numb. Seriously, three hours sat down is no joke. The film was great . It made me tear up in some parts so be warned; if you don't like sad films then don't go and see it.

Chris got me a card for Valentines Day too, it was really sweet of him. This is how our conversation went when he gave it to me:

Chris: This is for you.. (he hands me the card)

Me: Aw thank you! You shouldn't have.. (opens card, laughs at the verse written inside)

Chris: Haha! I knew you'd like it.

Me: I wish I'd got you something now.. but I thought you were like me and didn't buy into all this gimmicky kind of stuff...

Chris: Well.. Valentines Day is for guys anyway.... to express how they feel to their girlfriends.. (blushing)

Me: (Kisses on cheek) Hehehe, thank you.

I honestly thought we were not going to get each other anything but he went out of his way and bought me a card and wrote a nice message inside.

It made me forget for a moment about how Valentines Day is so commercialized and made me think of all the good things about my relationship with Chris. It made me think about how happy he makes me feel and that he always makes me laugh.

I agree with people that you cannot put a price on love but when your partner makes you something or treats you to something silly (like a chocolate bar) it makes you think about how they can make you happy with even the smallest gesture. :)

I promise to not bore you with any more mushyness now! But yeah, I'm young and in love.

Today has been quite uneventful for me. I've been playing on my GameBoy on this game called "Hamtaro: Ham Ham Heartbreak". It's about little Hamsters that are falling out of love and you have to rescue their love for each other. All together now! Awwww. :)

I've decided to video cover the game as a sort of little walk through to test out this recording software I have.

Cute isn't it? Well Aside from Hamtaro's weird squeak. :/

Well look out for more cute gaming videos because I made a YouTube channel specifically for my gaming addiction.

Some questions for you before I go:

1) Did you have a good Valentines Day? What did you do that was fun?

2) Do you have a favourite game? What is it?

3) My blog post wasn't too mushy? Was it?! -_-

Bye for now

My 18th Birthday

Monday, February 02, 2009

I'm 18 years old now and I feel old. Well actually I feel the same as what I did when I was 17.

I'm happy because, legally, I am an adult. I can get into 18 rated films and when I get asked for my ID I can just show my provisional driving license and stick my tongue out (that last part probably is not that mature!). Yay, go me! \(^.^)/

My birthday was on the 21st of January (last month!), I had a great day and got a few little surprises. My main presents were the trip to Castleton and New York (which I'm going to on the 28th of February).

I got a yummy pink cake, how very fitting for me.

Castleton on the following Friday (23rd January) was brilliant. Me and Chris stayed in a little apartment like room across from The Castle pub. The weather was quite good as well, it was dry but cold. I'm just glad it didn't rain!

We looked around shops and Chris bought me this gorgeous necklace (I wear it everyday!). We also had lots of nice meals including a big pub meal the night we got there. The next day we had chips and gravy which was so nice because it was cold outside.

I would love to go again. Maybe we'll go somewhere together again someday.

My questions for you are:

1) Have you ever been away with your partner/friends?
2)Where did you go and what was the most memorable event that happened there?
3)What is your favourite holiday destination?

Excited for Castleton

Sunday, January 18, 2009

I'm excited because its my 18th birthday next week on Wednesday. I will be able to legally drink (not that I've been drinking anyway *shifty eyes*).

I'm going out for a meal with my family on my actual birthday and on Friday I'm going away with Chris to Castleton for a one night stay in The Castle hotel.

The above picture is one I got off Wikipedia just so I can show you roughly what The Castle hotel looks like. We have a great view from there, you can see the Peveril Castle from where we're staying.

I'm really looking forward to going with him because it will be our first time staying out together as a couple and also because I love the countryside (its so romantic). It will be nice to get away from the city smell for a while.

Castleton is a lovely place and really peaceful. My favourite place has to be The Three Roofs Cafe; you can get a proper cup of tea there and the carrot cake is gorgeous.

We've both agreed that we will turn our phones off so that no one interrupts our time together. Seriously whenever we're alone Chris gets loads of calls and texts so this time his friends are in for a shock. :)

As I've already said, we will be going on Friday in the evening. We will have a meal there and stay over that night. Then we'll do some exploring on Saturday morning. Hopefully Chris won't make me walk too far (well if he does he can just carry me :P).

I'm taking my camera so I'll post lots of pictures up on my Flickr account and my Facebook for those who have added me on there.

If you want to find out more about Castleton you can click on these links:

1) Derbyshire Guide
2) Wikipedia article

My question for you today is:

What do you prefer? The city or the countryside? and why?

Bye for now

New York Trip

Monday, January 12, 2009

I feel bad because I haven't blogged in a while, so I'm here to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year from Kihugs.com.

I hope you all didn't get too drunk and are trying to stick to your New Year's resolutions. I have decided not to make any because I can never manage to keep to them. I mean let's face it, cutting down on chocolate? That's impossible.

I've been busy with my college work yet again and if you've been checking my Twitter account you will see that I have also been revising for my upcoming exams.

I've been to a meeting about the trip to New York that I am going on with my college media/film classes. I can't wait because it's my first time there. I am going on the 28th of February and I will be back on 5th of March.

Obviously while I am away in New York I will not be able to post here unless I find some time, but not to worry the college has set up a New York blog in which we can all contact our parents from.

I will post more information about the New York trip as I find it out.

Well, wish me luck for my exams!

Oh and if you are by any chance a member of the Quilting Bee feel free to visit my quilt. I'll be more than happy to trade with you!

My December blog

Monday, December 29, 2008

Hiya! I'm finally blogging; it feels like ages since I was last here. With the holidays well in swing I haven't had much time to spare to come on my blog, but I'm here now. I want to make up for my absence so I'm going to do a massive blog to compensate.

December has been a good month for me, I've felt like I've finally been able to relax a little bit. My university applications have been sent off which has gotten rid of some pressure.

On the 19th of December I went to another friends 18th birthday party, it was a fancy dress. I didn't have a brilliant costume due to money being an issue (Christmas really straps you for cash huh?) but I decided that I would be a 'Vampire'. This decision was made as soon as I had seen the film Twilight earlier that day. It was brilliant and I think the film definitely did the book justice.

This is a picture from my friends 18th. His name is Kurt and he is on the far left, my boyfriend Chris is in the middle (wearing a tie), I am on the far right and Kurt's girlfriend (also one of my best friends) Lottie is on the bottom wearing a cool hat. :)

It was a great night, the buffet was yummy, we all had drinks and got into the Christmas spirit. The dance that got everyone up, was (surprise surprise) the Macarena! There must be something about that song that people cannot resist. Literally everyone and their mum knows the dance moves.

The 19th of December was also my best friend Shola's 18th birthday. So we wished her a happy birthday while we were all at Kurt's party. She has to be one of the best dancers when she's had a bit to drink, love you Shoals!

Shola and me at Kurt's party, don't mind the cider in front of us. I prefer alco-pops. :)

After the party Chris came back to my house, we were both a bit tipsy so we decided it would be best if he stopped over. We both shared my small single bed. At first it didn't work as we were fighting over who got the most room/quilt/pillow but I fell asleep on his chest. So Chris ended up being my pillow.

My dad asked me if Chris sharing my bed was a practice run for when we go away together on my birthday and I replied, "Put it this way dad, if he'd snored last night we wouldn't be going away together". Snoring is my one true foe.

In the run up to Christmas I was busy buying last minute Christmas presents and giving presents to people.

I couldn't sleep on Christmas Eve, I'm like a little kid.

Christmas Day was great, as it always is. I had loads of presents, much more than what I expected! Do you like our tree? It is one of three trees.

Among the many presents I received I got a new digital camcorder and pink She hair straighteners. My mum and dad got me lots of surprises so I was really happy.

Chris bought me a huge teddy (his name is Charlie), a Lost Prophets CD and a book by Stephenie Meyer called The Host. He knows me well!

I stayed in pajamas for most of the day and didn't even bother getting changed when Chris came up. Don't worry, I did shower and change after ten minutes of him being at my house.

We decided to watch The Dark Knight together, which is an awesome film by the way. I could see Chris from the corner of my eye paying more attention to me than the film. It was very distracting the way he picked my hand up and did that kissing up the arm thing.

I was like, look Chris you're cute and all but I'm trying to focus on Batman here (who sounded like he had a sore throat through all of the film; someone give that guy a lozenge!).

I had to balance giving Chris snuggles and watching the Joker being crazy. I thought to myself, maybe all the Joker needed was a snuggle...and makeup tips.

Boxing day was my sleepy day in which we had beef for dinner. It was so nice. :)

I also watched The Little Mermaid on DVD, which is one of my all time favourite Disney films.

I would like to wish everyone who reads my blog, Happy Holidays! I hope you had a good Christmas like me. Also thank you to my affiliates for the cute Christmas gifts!

My questions before I sign off are:

1) How was your Christmas?

2) What was the best thing about your Christmas?

3) What was your favourite present?

4) Do you have any plans for New years eve and New Years day?

My answers:

1) In one word: Brilliant.

2) Being with the ones I love. :)

3) My camcorder. Thanks mum and dad!

4) Might chill with some friends on New Years eve. New Years day is Chris' birthday. ^_^

Bye for now.

Party animal?

Sunday, December 14, 2008

Have you ever noticed that in the run up to Christmas you feel busy?

And not just the "I'm sorry I couldn't go out today because I was doing homework" busy. I mean the monumental "I couldn't go out today because I signed my soul away to the shopping center" busy.

All I've been doing is going to the local shopping center. Non-stop. I am so sick of that place, as you can probably tell.

I apologize for the absence of blogging, it's funny that I said I would blog everyday and then I disappeared off the face of the Earth for over a week.

A lot of things have been happening in my life that have prevented me from mustering the will power to entertain you with my random-ness. For example, I went to a party last night for a friends 18th. It was a great laugh, it's brilliant seeing people from college get absolutely plastered.

Don't worry, I stayed relatively sober. I arrived home, wobbling around saying, "I'm just merry hahaha... wooahh... *burp*". Not a good look. :)

The music was good (the best part was seeing Elliot singing along to Spice Girls - our harmonies were awesome). I also survived doing the marathon dance that is the Macarena.

All in all it was a great night out with my friends and I can't wait for the pictures on Facebook. I bet I look a total pancake in most of them though!

Look forward to more blogs!

Oh and if your reading this post on Facebook then importing my Kihugs feed was successful. ;)

Edit:

Here's me and Chris at the party, do we look drunk? haha :)

Learning is fun

Monday, December 01, 2008

We played with "Play Dough" in English Language class today.

Jealous?

I knew you would be.

Before you ask, it did serve an educational purpose. We were seeing which group could make the longest grammatically correct sentence. Each little Play Dough ball represented a word and we labeled them with sticky notes as to what word it was and what word class it fitted into.

The Play Dough *cough* ...balls varied in colour because they had to represent different word classes (the pink ones were auxiliary verbs!).

It was a fun lesson and you should have seen it (A-level students rolling little Play Dough balls). It was a lesson you would only see in our college that's for sure! :)

I'm a visual learner so I feel the lesson did help. I will always remember the pink auxiliary verbs (aw, bless).

My question for today is:

What kind of learner are you? Visual, Auditory or Kinesthetic? (This chart should help you decide)

My answer:

I would say visual. I always doodle on my notes and colour them with highlighters. I make them all prettyful. :)

PS. I got a chocolate cracker in my advent calender. ^_^;

University feels too soon

Sunday, November 30, 2008

I can't believe it's the end of November already, the month just seems to have flown by. Oh-Vintage's blog everyday for a month challenge has ended too and I'm happy to say that I have done it! :)
It was really fun, I think I'm going to carry on blogging everyday seen as I liked it so much.

People are already getting offers back from universities! It's scary because I haven't even sent my application off yet. I just need to do a few final things on it and then it will be ready. No point rushing it and making a mess right? The official deadline is not while the 15th of January but I plan to send mine off way before Christmas. I can't leave something that important to the last minute!

I'm a little bit nervous to be honest, I mean we'll all be going our separate ways. Of course I'll still keep in touch with people, but I suppose I will miss college. We always joke around and have a good time. I hope I can still meet up with people and go to the cinema like we always do.

I'm looking forward to Christmas, I just love all the festivities and atmosphere. Well, apart from the atmosphere at the local shopping center (that can get pretty scary when last minute shoppers are out!).

I have an advent calender too, which is just super cute! I didn't ask for one this year because I thought I was too old for them but Greg came in my room and held up my calender! Turns out my mum had just gone and bought me one (thank you!). I asked her why she had bought me one because I thought I was too old and she replied, "Of course you not too old!". Aw, she's kind. :)

All this talk about Christmas reminds me I need to write out my Christmas card list. I have some really cute cards this year to give out. Tee-hee! ^_^;

Well, I'm going to get an early night tonight (after I've read some manga!).

Bye. xx<3

Azumanga Daioh

Saturday, November 29, 2008

I started watching another anime, called "Azumanga Daioh", today. I think it's a great anime and pretty addictive. I like the characters because they have at least one that you can relate too. This is a little about the series according to Wikipedia (which sums it up nicely!):

"Azumanga Daioh chronicles everyday life in an unnamed Japanese high school in Tokyo, following the trials and triumphs of six girls: reserved Sakaki's obsession with cute animals, Chiyo's struggle to fit in with girls five years older, Osaka's spacey nature and skewed perspective on the world, Yomi's aggravation at an annoying best friend, Tomo, whose energy is rivaled only by her lack of sense, and Kagura's efforts in sports and school".

This is the opening theme for the anime:

I'm thinking about buying the box set because I'm enjoying it that much.

How cute does it look! :)

So *hint hint* if anyone wants to buy that for me! Don't worry, I'm only joking! I'll probably go and buy it myself seen as I can't wait for Christmas. :)

My question for today is:

What do you think is cute(it can be anything!)?

My answer:

Chris. ^_^;

Are you busy?

Thursday, November 27, 2008

OK, I have literally twenty minutes to write this blog entry. Why do I leave things to the last minute?

I've been playing on my Nintendo DS, it helps me unwind after being at college for seven hours. Sometimes I can be there for nine hours on a Thursday, if I don't come home for my two hour dinner break.

I don't mind because I'm a hard working person like that. By doing extra work I feel like I'm trying my best to get into university. Some second year students are only doing three courses where as I am taking four courses, so I'm putting more hours in. Not to mention all the studying and work I do at home.

When I step back and think about it, I am a busy person.

I do college work, maintain Kihugs.com, socialize, see Chris, go out shopping/to the cinema etc and all my other hobbies too, like gaming, reading, blogging, chatting on forums etc.

The picture on the left is a good representation of how I multi-task (mostly late at night). Except you can replace the PlayStation 2 there with a Nintendo Gamecube, seen as I love Nintendo. :)

The manga in Konata's arms is so typically me though (don't worry I am fond of many "intelligent" literary works too).

I need to start going to bed early, if you've been following the pattern of my blog post times you will see how bad my sleep patterns are. Although yesterday I did go to bed quite early (early for me anyway!).

My form tutor actually asked me when do I sleep. The thing is I do sleep, I just don't get enough of it. I'm really bad on the weekends when I love nothing more than to sleep in while half past ten. Bliss. :)

Questions:

1) Would you consider yourself a busy person?
2) What do you do to keep yourself organized (assuming you are somewhat organized!) ?

My answers:

1) You would be lucky to catch me!
2) I have a big planner in which I write important dates and then I have a separate notepad in which I write my homework and things I need to remember. I think I am quite organized (well I am when I want to be!).

Night!

Heroes

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

My new coat came today! It is so nice and snug, I love it (not as much as Chris!). :)

I'm off to watch Heroes now that I've taped (Sky+ rocks!) because I'm such a little fangirl like that.

I will reply to comments tomorrow!

Chat later

Blogger

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

The blog for a month challenge is almost over. I can't believe I've managed to come on here everyday and blog. Well actually I can! I like Kihugs.com a lot more since I revamped it.

I haven't been online much recently because of college work. I'm in the middle of coursework that counts towards my final grade so I've been busy working on that. I have also been reading manga (don't shoot me!).

Just so I can set this straight, my site is powered by Blogger. I cannot use PHP scripts because they are not compatible with my host. Sorry. :)

I like Blogger because it's easy to maintain and I can access it via college. I think they would block most of the other blogging systems.

In other news (I'm starting to sound like a news reporter!) I have invested in a new coat. A nice thick one that should keep me all snug when it's minus 5 degrees outside!

Feel free to answer the questions from my previous blog.

I have one more for you:

What are your plans for the weekend, going anyway special etc?

I'm going to my friends house to try out her new Xbox 360 with her!

Christmas is coming up!

Monday, November 24, 2008

I'm currently watching "This Is England" on TV, it's a pretty sad film but there's nothing else on! This is just a quick blog because I want to go to bed. :)

College was good today, I got to catch up and chat with my friend Flow. She's been stressed and I cheered her up a bit.

I haven't been up to much lately other than college work and getting my University application up to scratch. I'm happy because I've nearly finished it now and that will be a huge weight off my shoulders.

I will be sad to leave college in a way because of the friends I've made there but I'm sure we can keep in touch through MSN and Facebook!

I'm looking forward to Christmas and all the festivities. :)

Some questions for you:

1) What do you want for Christmas? Surprises or do you want something specific?
2) Doing anything special for Christmas?

My answers:

1) I prefer surprises, after all it's the thought that counts.
2) Family meals, going out and all that jazz.

Night. xx

Until tomorrow

Sunday, November 23, 2008

Thank you to everyone who commented and wishes Greg a Happy Birthday yesterday. :)

It's too late for me to blog now, so I shall bring you a "Larissa Update" tomorrow. I will go return everyone's comments now. <3

Bye for now!

Happy Birthday Greg!

Saturday, November 22, 2008

I love birthdays. Birthdays = cake. It's especially good when it's scrummy chocolate cake like what we had for Greg's birthday today.

I apologize because unfortunately I didn't get chance to take any pictures of the cake before we ate it. The picture on the left is similar to what it looked like before it disappeared. :)

We sang "Happy Birthday" too, it was slightly out of tune but I feel it was a good team effort made by me and my parents. Greg seemed happy enough and awarded us 10 points, but he advised us to work on our harmonies.

I wanted to sing my tried and tested "altered" versions of the song:

Happy Birthday to you,
You belong in a zoo,
You look like a monkey,
And you smell like one too.

or

Happy Birthday to you,
Squashed tomatoes and stew,
Bread and butter in the gutter,
Happy Birthday to you.

But we opted for the old classic (aw fudge).

Greg heard me on the phone earlier and I began passing messages to him from Chris on the phone.

Greg: "Who's on the phone?"
Me: "Chris"
Greg: "Tell him I said hi"
Me: "Greg says hi"
Chris: "Tell him I said Happy Birthday"
Me: "Chris says Happy Birthday"
Greg: "Tell him I said thaaankoo"
Me: "Greg says thankoo"

I felt like a translator and as I was thinking about that Greg proceeded to nick my toast with a smug little smile. I let him off because it was "his day".

So all in all Greg had a great day and even though he's a fifteen year old pain in the butt, I wish him a Happy Birthday.

He best get me a good present for my 18th! ^_~

Late night blogging

Friday, November 21, 2008

I'm sorry Flow! This is a super quick blog so she does not freak out that I'm blogging late again. Check out my previous posts comments. ^_^;

It's Greg's 15th birthday tomorrow, he is my younger brother. I'm looking forward to eating some chocolate cake! Of course I will let him have the first piece but I will be staring at him like a hungry puppy till he surrenders and gives me some cake.

So I'll blog tomorrow and hopefully include some pictures!

Sick day = Life List

Thursday, November 20, 2008

I've not been to college today due to being ill. I feel a bit better now, I suppose it's all the stress and pressure of work getting to me. That and also "girl trouble". I'll spare you the details.

Flow phoned me up and asked how I'd been today, which I thought was sweet of her. She made me promise that I would blog early so I can get to bed early. However she did not forbid me from reading any manga before bed (joking!). ^_^;

I've thought about my life as it is and I feel I can organize myself. I'm going to set myself a random "life list" now.

Larissa's uber-cute and chocolate flavored list
(Yes, I'm hungry and I thought I'd give it a daft name)

1) Be more organized(ha!).
2) Plan a revision timetable and stick to it.
3) Work on English linguistic investigation for college.
4) Do some research for Media coursework.
5) Do some research also for Archaeology coursework.
6) Watch less anime (Nooo! >_<) 7) Utilize my time better - Do not get distracted by the TV/Gamecube/DS/Anything fun!
8) Go to bed earlier to prevent "napping" in the afternoons.
9) Eat less junk food and eat more brain food...like um...bananas. On second thought, I hate bananas. x_X
10) Actually revise, duh.
11) Send off UCAS.
12) Keep my room tidy.. (Zombie mode: Must. Clean. Room. Uuuhhh.. *shuffles with arms out stretched*)
13) Have more faith and confidence in myself.
14) Stop worrying like an old woman! :)
15) Laugh about things and chillax. My shoulders are seriously tense.

Well that's my "life list" done for now. I will edit/update it in another post should I feel the need to.

My questions for today are:

1) Would you consider making a "life list"?
2) If so, would you blog it?
3) How organized would you say you are on a scale from 1 to 10 and why? (10 being super organized and 1 being not organized at all).

My answers:

1) Done
2) See above. ;)
3) I would say about 6 because I have a tendency to worry when things aren't done on time.

Snark

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Chris came to my house today. It was good because I've not been feeling to well lately and he cheered me up. It's shame when he has to go home because we can literally talk for hours! The picture represents me when I have to say goodbye to Chris. :)

This is a short blog because I just thought I'd promote the forum I use. It's called Snark and it was made by Jacky of Dubious.nu.

There are nice people there who can help you with any problems you may have, be it personal or web-related. They are also really funny!

I hope I can see you there. 'Night!

Heart-shaped crisp

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Apparently I look like Tohru Honda from the anime Fruits Basket. Maybe it's because of my hair style, the fact I have blue eyes and I think bunnies are cute.

Tonight I've been busy filling in my University application on the UCAS website.

It has been a working progress really from a few weeks ago, but you can edit your application online before you send it. I was just adding my final adjustments. Now all I have to do is paste in my personal statement; a short piece of writing in which you effectively "sell yourself" to the Universities you are applying too.

I can't wait to get my application finished and sent off. It will just be one less thing on my list of tasks.

I already have all my coursework to deal with and not to mention studying for my actual exams.

I know it will all pay off eventually when I (hopefully) get excepted into a University. I just have to keep working hard and try not to get behind!

It's easy said than done, especially when there are so many other fun things I'd rather be doing (like going out with Chris). I really need to work on controlling my short attention span.

Speaking of Chris, I did see him today. We went to lunch together so I got to spend an hour with him. We're in the same college and don't see each other often so it's good when we have a break together to have a laugh. I'm glad I was optimistic today, maybe it's the influence of Shugo Chara!

Chris sent me a funny picture today of this heart-shaped crisp he found:

If you tilt your head to the left you can just about see it. :)

Cute, huh? He said it reminded him of me....

and then he ate it. :(

I suppose the way to a man's heart is through his stomach right. ^_^;

Hope you all had a great day and thank you for answering my blog questions.

I've got some more for you:

1) What do you normally blog about? e.g. personal stuff
2) What year are you in at "school"? Have you left perhaps?
3)What are your career goal(s)?

My answers are:

1) I blog about anything that randomly pops into my head!
2) I'm currently in my final year of college and am applying to University.
3) I want to be either a Teacher or a Journalist.

Shugo Chara

Monday, November 17, 2008

I've been watching this super cute anime called Shugo Chara today; recommended by Rima of School Girls' Blog.

It is about a girl called Amu Hinamori who has a reputation of being "cool and spicy" at her school. However her real personality is that of a shy girl; much like me (haha).

It's a sweet anime that teaches you to be true to yourself. Something I suppose everyone should take note of.

Its easy to watch and not too complicated. So I would recommend it to any person who likes shojo anime or just general "cutesy" anime. Check out the opening theme.

I was in college today for an hour and a half. I like Mondays because I only have one lesson.

It wasn't that good though because I didn't get to have a laugh with Chris. He finishes college before me on a Monday so I don't normally see him. -_-;

Oh well, I'm optimistic for tomorrow. I have no idea why but I've just got a feeling everything will be alright and work out.

Some questions for you:

1) What is your "feel good" song?
2) Do you have a hobby? What is it?
3) What is your favourite kind of food/snack?

My answers:

1) Mine would be "My sweetheart" by Tokyo Mew Mew (J-pop I know!)
2) Reading, gaming and looking after Kihugs!
3) Mine have to be Oreos, I love them. =p

Magicle x Miracle

Sunday, November 16, 2008

I'm blogging late again, no surprises here then. :)

I went to Meadowhall yesterday with Chris and I bought new Manga. One of them is called "Magical x Miracle" and its about this girl called Merleawe who hopes to become the best at magic. Its a good read and has quite a bit of humor in it so I'm glad I bought it; I'm probably going to buy the volume 2 next weekend.

I really need to be saving my money for Christmas presents though but I always end up seeing something I want. Whether it be Manga or a DVD.

I wouldn't class myself as a "Shopaholic". I think you need a few fancy credit cards to become one of them and buy several sets of one thing in different colours. Like buying the same dress in different colours for every occasion! (insert happy noise here).

Meadowhall was as packed as I thought it would be. We were defiantly lucky to find a a seat in the food court aka pigs feeding trough. Yum.

You have to literally pounce on an open table as soon as you see someone leaving it. People start to get nervous as "sharks with food trays" swarm around them and as soon as any holes in their defense appear...BAM! Ten pre-teens hop on your table and start discussing who got "totally smashed" that weekend.

Its a crazy place I tell you. I wonder why no one has been crushed there yet by the sheer amount of people.

College tomorrow. I don't feel well so I don't want to go but at least I only have one lesson. I can surely get through that.

Here are some questions for you:

1) Where do you normally go to shop and what is it like there?
2) What are your spending habits like: Do you prefer to save or "flash the cash"?
3) Have you bought all your Christmas presents yet or are you going to leave it till the last minute? :)

Picture of the week: Meow

Sunday, November 09, 2008

Do you ever find that you get carried away on forums?

I know I do.

I will say to myself that I will only spend an hour or so on a forum but I always end up finding a topic I'm interested in and start posting in it.

Also because I haven't been feeling to well lately I find that I spend more and more time on the internet. Yet, I'm not updating Kihugs like I'm supposed to. I tend to use Kihugs in the week as more of a boredom killer, especially when I feel like college is giving me a headache. Typing in my blog is quite soothing. The way the keyboard goes, tap tap tap. Ah.

Weekends are forum time in my opinion. A chance to catch up on the threads and topics I want to post messages in. This weekend I got a little too carried away (as you can probably tell).

So I thought I'd share another cute video with you.

I always do that when the fan comes out in the summer. Its so funny to talk into them, don't you think? Or is that just me being strange. ^_^;

My questions for today are:

1) Do you visit forums and if so, are you a regular poster?
2) Do ever talk into fans like the video?
3) What was the last film you watched and was it any good?
4) What is you favourite word/saying?

My answers:

1) Yeah, go to my links section to visit the forums I use.
2)Yep, its fun!
3) The last film I watched was "27 Dresses" on dvd with my mum. Its a real feel good kind of film and is really funny in some parts. Also James Marsden is in it, he was one of my favourite X-men.
4) My favourite saying of the moment is what has made Picture of the week this week. Brace yourself, here it is:

Picture of the week

Magnifique you all!

This scene in the Arisocats makes me laugh every time I see it. Me and Chris use this phrase in random moments. Also Thomas' expression in this screen shot, as he is preparing to say the line, is priceless.

Contact lenses and New York

Friday, November 07, 2008

Why I leave my blogs to the last minute I will never know.

I'm going to get contact lenses because I'm shortsighted, which basically means I can't see things that are far away (I know its stupid to name it "short" sighted!). I hoping that they will suit me and I won't have any problems with them. I'm fed up of squinting at signs and people (seriously, I don't recognise people until they come closer I always end up squinting). I will still wear my glasses sometimes, like when I'm blogging.

We were talking about our New York trip in Media today. I'm going to New York with my Media class on the 29th of February and we're staying for 5 days! I can't wait! It's going to be so good, just like in the films eh? I went to Florida when I was 15 but this will be my first time in the "Big Apple".

Well my blog for this evening is fairly short, I will update Kihugs/reply to messages/write a more substantial blog (one that you can really sink your teeth into!) tomorrow.

Good Night! xx

Yatta! I did it!

Wednesday, November 05, 2008

Why do college days always go so slow but when I get home my evening always goes by so quick. It's Sod's law I tell you.

I've been playing Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for Nintendo DS quite a bit recently. I love my DS it always helps pass the time when I am bored and have nothing to do! I've always been a Zelda fan ever since I got introduced to it by a friend. I bought Twilight Princess for the Gamecube and Chris lent me Windwaker too.

We can spend ages playing through the games together. He always helps me complete the parts I get stuck on and then I do the parts he gets stuck on. We're like this ultimate gaming team when it comes to Zelda.

It was a shame when I got stuck at one part in the game and Chris wasn't around. No matter how much I tortured myself over trying to figure out this puzzle, it just wasn't happening. So I calmly placed my DS down and decided that I would return to it later.

"Yatta!"
I managed to get past the part that I was finding difficult; a few minutes ago to be precise. I'm really happy now!

Now I know how Hiro feels when he arrives in New York for the first time.. ;)

I always find that if I can't do something the first time around, after I've had a break from it I can usually do it when I come back to the game.

Speaking of Heroes, the episode tonight was epic. I mean I'm literally on the edge of my seat every time I watch it. I'm such a Heroes fan girl, I even have a shirt! *blushes*

I managed to get all my homework for archaeology done today, it feels good when you accomplish a task. :)

Some questions for you:

1) Do you own a Nintendo DS/other game console? What is you favourite game for it?
2) Do you watch any TV shows, what is your favourite?
3) Do you normally complete homework as soon as you get it or do you procrastinate sometimes like me?

Ebay addict

Tuesday, November 04, 2008

Hey, I've been quite busy today at college. Working and getting my English Language investigation up to speed. I feel like I'm really getting a good amount of work done which is something to be happy about; free time is gold dust when you're a student.

I've been trying to figure out what I can buy people for Christmas. I know its a little early to be thinking about Christmas presents but I really want to avoid the mad rush and get everything sorted as soon as possible. All I can picture is me stuck in a massive cue at Thorntons with my arms full of chocolate and being bashed around by who are also stocking up on chocolaty goodness; possibly for their toy-boys. Trust me, old ladies are ruthless when boyfriends/Christmas presents are at stake.

I already have a few ideas in my head but I'm not going to write them on here as a certain someone will come peeping; yes Chris I mean you.

I love Ebay. They have so many quirky gifts and unique items. I really am internet-shopaholic, I should start a fan listing for that if there isn't already one!

This Yuki bag is so cute. I was originally going to ask Chris to get it me (haha) but the auction was running out in an hour. So I've bought Yuki.

Anyway! I need to focus on buying people presents and not get carried away on Ebay. Another good site for Christmas gifts is, Getting Personal. You can buy personalised gifts and the prices aren't too bad either, so I recommend you check that out.

Oh! Before I forget, I've joined a forum called Superawr. Its a cute little forum so you should join too if you haven't already.

Some questions for you:

1) Where do you get your gift ideas from?
2) How often do you buy yourself things?
3) Are you going to join Superawr?

First day / LBD

Monday, November 03, 2008

First day back at college today, well more like first lesson back at college.

I love Mondays because I don't start college while 2:30 pm. How brilliant is that? I get to sleep in bed till about 9, which is considered a lay in for me, and then spend the morning doing whatever I want.

I took half of the "sweet hoard" into college today and people looked confused when I randomly threw them a bag of Haribos. It looked like I was making sweets magically appear. Which is of course true, seen as I have a Mary Poppins bag and all. I seem to be able to fit everything and anything into my bag. It's like a bottomless pit, either that or I just carry too much stuff.

My English Language lesson flew by and I soon found myself walking out of college.

While I was in the car my phone rang, it was Chris. I couldn't hear him at first so I just sat there saying, "hello? hello?? heellllooo?".

It went all fuzzy on the phone and then his voice boomed in my eardrum saying, "WHERE ARE YOU?"; my eyes practically bashed together in their sockets.

"I'm in the car just near my house" I replied in a timid voice, scared that he was going to break the speaker on my phone.

Turns out he was just calling to ask if I was still up for going to Meadowhall; he needed to buy a book that he'd pre-ordered.

So I spent most of my afternoon at Meadowhall which, thankfully, wasn't packed with millions of shoppers doing Christmas shopping. I hate having to fight my way through bags and other dangerous obstacles, such as prams! I swear prams are designed to run teenagers over.

We went to Waterstones and picked up the book he wanted. It was a History book about Russia that he had to read for his coursework. I'm jealous that he knows so much about History and I don't. In school I was always rubbish at History, probably because I spent most of my time doodling or staring out of the window.

After we had finished looking around Meadowhall we went to Pizza Hut, I was starving after all that walking around. My mouth was watering before we even walked through the door. I love pizza, but that's not a good thing.

Whilst in Pizza Hut, Chris asked me to a restaurant called The Venus for his 18th birthday, which is on New Years Day. I happily agreed but in the back of my mind sulked.

Venus = I have to wear my Little Black Dress (LBD).

LBD = less pizzas if I want to still fit in it.

Even though I'm a size 8/10 I'm always worried about gaining weight. I need to cut down on all this tasty junk food if I want to look good for his 18th and most importantly impress his parents.

At least we walked home, so maybe I burnt off some calories then. I seriously doubt it though seen as I scoffed some custard creams. I think I'm being to hopeful.

So all in all I had a good day, well spending time with Chris and my friends is always good.

Oh! Before I go...

I've been nagged to post pictures of myself with the new haircut but, in my opinion, I am not photogenic at all. Oh well, here goes:

Chris is cute though...

I've just noticed the time stamp of this post (11:48 PM!), cutting it a bit close aren't I!

Goodnight. xx

Picture of the week: Fancy a pear?

Sunday, November 02, 2008

Evening, I've really got to stop blogging late at night. I've just been busy with my English Language coursework and I'm afraid I lost track of time. I haven't forgotten to blog though, I'm still up for the challenge.

I'm starting a new blog entitled "Picture of the week", in which I will attempt to show you a funny, cute or just plain weird picture. Drum roll please, allow me to present the phallic-shaped pear:

Oh my gosh!

I assure you this picture has in no way been edited. The phallic-shaped pear, or Phil as he prefers to be called, is in fact real. He made a grand entrance from the fruit bowl (my sides almost burst due to the incontrollable hysterical laughter).

For the brief amount of time we spent together, I felt it was necessary to document the moment. He took it in his stride and posed on the dining table.

However his life span was rather short as my dad proceeded to strip Phil of his masculinity (he cut Phil into small pieces for a nutritious fruit salad, yum!).

All I can say is that I will miss you Phil, at least the picture will remind us all of your ...personality.

I survived Halloween

Saturday, November 01, 2008

Konbanwa. How are you this evening? I've decided to try this blog challenge for November. All I have to do is blog every single day for a month, it isn't so hard. The only thing that may cause reason for concern is my sieve-like memory.

Knowing me (and I think I know myself pretty well) I'll start out really committed and think I'm actually doing well when one day I forget about it completely, resulting in me failing the challenge. Well I'm not taking any chances, I'm actually going to write myself a sticky note to remind me. If you have a blog and would like to take part in the challenge hurry and click on the banner at the top of this post, you have to get your entry in now. I know I've left writing a blog quite late but I've been busy with my linguistic investigation for my English Language coursework.

As you know it was Halloween yesterday, I hope you had a good time. I would have blogged if I hadn't been on constant alert for trick or treaters. Ready to jump for the door and throw several bags of Haribo sweets at them before swiftly shutting the door. Surprisingly there weren't as many preteens out as I thought there would be. They were all probably trying to sneak into the 5th Saw film.

We have so many sweets left over now, if any of my college friends like sweets they're going to love me when I go back to college on Monday. Free sweets for all!

If you haven't already read my previous blog entry please read it now and feel free to comment. You will find out why I am scared of my dentist, I assure you its an interesting Students Tale!

I haven't really been up to much today other than coursework, so I'm sorry for the randomness.

I'm waiting for my 'Tokyo Mew Mew' manga to come, but the site says its waiting for new stock so I don't know how long its going to be! I like to take manga to read in college when I have nothing to do. I usually sit on a bench before my Media class and read some then!

Well I'm going now, this blog was really just to tell you about the challenge! So I'll see you tomorrow. :)

Leatherface Dentist: A Students Tale

Thursday, October 30, 2008

I found myself lying face up staring at the ceiling as, what can only be described as, an electric hook descended onto my sore wisdom tooth (yes, I only have one).

It's official. I am scared of my dentist.

*

Today was the day of my dentist appointment. I woke up knowing full well that I hadn't flossed as much I was supposed too and that I'd drunk too much tea since my last appointment, but I still managed to have high hopes that my dentist or Captain Hook (as I like to call her) wouldn't claw my teeth out. I was wrong.

Now I wouldn't describe my dentist surgery as normal, it is anything but normal. Its a small semi-detached house in need of a dire update. Think: Bad colour scheme, out of date posters, a lot of leaflets and creaky floors. Already it is beginning to sound like the setting of a horror story.

I walked in and was greeted by the sound of a dental drill and the smell of tooth paste. My pulse quickened. The dentist surgery creeps me out. If there had been someone screaming in the surgery, I would have been out of that place so fast that you wouldn't even notice that I had been there. However I had to grin and bear it; there was no way I was going anywhere fast. All I could do was stare at the poster wall and await my impending doom.

Somehow I think my dentist misinterpreted that, "Please help yourself" sign you see on leaflet boxes. *Shudders*

After my mum had talked to the minion- I mean the receptionist we climbed up to the waiting room. The dentist surgery is on the bottom floor you see and the waiting room (aka Green Mile like cells) is upstairs. They make you clomp up these steep stairs, probably to tire you out so you don't try to escape.

I grimaced as I stared at more posters that covered the waiting room. My eyes stopped when I saw one next to the window, I was both amused and slightly scared. "DO NOT CLIMB - DANGER". I wondered how many (if any!) people had actually climbed onto the window ledge and what their reasons might have been; I shuddered at the thought and turned my attention back to "Cash in the Attic" that was playing on the tiny box TV. What a daft show.

It seemed like only a few minutes had passed before I was called for "The Chair".

The Chair was squeaky and too comfy as I reluctantly sat in it. I was given a bib of some sorts (maybe they thought I was going to drool) and a pair of not too trendy glasses. I sighed to myself, this was not a good look for me.

I soon found myself lying down and facing "Captain hook". She asked me how old I was, "17" I meekly replied. I knew she had a hatred towards teenagers, this knowledge didn't inspire confidence and as she shined a light into my mouth I said my prayers.

She used an electric hook to put in between my gums and poke them. It looked like a device I'd seen in a Texas Chainsaw massacre film; she would put ol'Leatherface to shame.

She put it on my wisdom tooth and pulled the gum off the top of it, I flinched and I swear I saw her smile. That or the hysteria was taking over. Water was flying everywhere out of this strange hook thing. It didn't help that her man servant was using a straw hoover like thing to suck all the moisture out of my mouth. I couldn't have drooled even if I wanted too.

After several brutal minutes and flinches/twitches later I was free to wash my mouth out and stare at the damage. My new nickname was: Bleeding Gums.

I was swiftly led out of the room only to be given a lecture about mouth cancer (its a standard thing) and that I should contact them if my wisdom tooth was giving me any trouble. However all I heard was, "Blah, blah blah, you may go, blah blah..."

I walked out of the dentist surgery and breathed in the sweet scent of freedom. Believe me, the smell of car fumes and cigarette ash is pretty sweet after you've been in there.

I'm back and better than ever baby

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Just in case you were wondering where I have been, I have one word for you. College. College has taken up most of my time recently, from typing my UCAS personal statement to the endless amounts of homework, revision and coursework. The only thing that has kept me going is the idea that all this will pay off when I hopefully get into University.

I went to a Hallam open day with Chris and it was great. We attended a presentation about the English courses Hallam has to offer and all I can say is that I am really excited to do a BA in English Language! Afterwards we went around town and got a sandwich at subway; we were ambushed by numerous amounts of charities along the way. I gave money to a fire fighter to help the children’s hospital. All the fire fighters were doing a sponsored ladder climb or something.

I haven’t been online much at all to be honest. But now I hope to get some decent updates done to Kihugs. I really want to write another “Students Tale”. :)

On a random note, I’ve had my hair cut so I need to put a more update picture of myself in the about me section. The picture I’ve already put there is a crumby webcam one so it’s all fuzzy. Haha

Bye for now

First day back at college

Sunday, September 07, 2008

Hiya, I'm back! Sorry I took so long in posting again but this week has been quite hectic. I went to the university and had a good long chat about my courses for college. The man who was there was really friendly and helpful. He explained to me that even someone with loads of Ucas points doesn't always get accepted into the university. He says that if I just work hard, he sees no problem of me getting in the university! So now I know that I can achieve what I want. It seems I'm not the only person who college has let down. I was talking to one of my friends in English class and they were having the same problem with their courses being canceled due to funding problems.

Its just a huge relief that I have finally got things sorted out and I'm not feeling as stressed anymore. Shola, my best friend, helped me a lot during all of this. Just by being supportive and a shoulder to cry on.

My CardCaptor Sakura box set came yesterday! :3 I'm so happy because it has taken less than a week to arrive. I'm already watching it as I am typing this blog. ~Nya! ^^
I have put a picture up too, click on it to view a bigger picture.

I've gone and ordered the two CCS movies off eBay too! £9 for two movies is a good price and they are both on one disc. :)

My first day at college was okay, I'm quite pleased with my new timetable as I have only one early start and, seen as I'm only doing 2 A2's and an AS, I have less hours. I start college at half past 2 on a Monday! That means I get to sleep in! hehehe :3
My form class is pretty good too as most of my friends are in it and I more or less know everyone there.

The only thing that is annoying about going back is that there are so many new students starting out that the college is packed at dinner time. The queue was massive on Friday! T_T

I'm sure what to do today, maybe Chris will come round and we can watch a DVD or something.

Oh yeah, Kawaii Awards season one has ended so be sure to pick up your awards. :)

Well I'm off now. Ja ne!

Grab life by the conkers

Thursday, August 28, 2008

I've been quite busy today. I woke up at 9, which is very early for me, due to the fact that the postman was ringing the doorbell repeatedly. I finally managed to drag myself out of bed to accept a parcel from him that was way to big to fit through the door. I bashed it against the banister on the stairs and nearly fell over the stupid thing. I'm not a morning person and going back to college is defiantly going to make things worse.

I can just see it now, being bogged down with work and revision. Oh, joy. The only person that manages to keep me from going completely insane there is Shola. Seriously, if it wasn't for my friend I think I'd become even more of a hermit then I am now. Actually I should withdraw that comment, I don't want people thinking I have no life. Trust me though, college eats all your time up. Or should I say, High school for all you American readers. I'm confused. :s

I've felt a bit of empowerment with Kihugs today. I've deleted all of the dead link affiliates! God knows what happened to the rule that affiliates are supposed to keep in touch. They must think that once you have linked them then that's it, they don't have to mention you or talk to you. Why on earth then should I even be advertising their lazy asses?!

I've decided that now I'm just going to have links on the side that I like visiting (blog roll) and who comment me regulary (Top affiliates). I will also still link swap and advertise with people but I'm sorry to those affiliates who got deleted. Well actually I'm not, you got deleted because basically you were nothing to Kihugs. I get better comments from people who aren't even affiliates!

Thanks to this article about Teen-bopperitis on Ubiquitous I have now seen where I have gone wrong in even wanting to be "affiliated" with sites like these. There are loads of these sites and I can see how annoying they can be for people to have to view. They are basically filled up with page fodder (like random facts *yawn*) and there is nothing worthwhile that I want to take back from a site like that.

Honestly, I don't care what your pets look like, whether they are dead or on holiday. People don't want to kn
ow 20 random facts about you, like the fact that you don't like broccoli.

I also agree that when people do this its just plain annoying:

The whole raping your eyes with underlining, italics and bolding is just aggravating. Saying random words to display interests is something these people love to do. I still can't really understand why.

You should head over to Crystals site and see what I mean about this.

The funny thing is, is that I used to look up to sites like these and want mine to be just like them, I soon changed my mind about that! When you get right down to it, all they offer is the same content. Stolen celebrity images seems to be their favourites. "Omgz I has liek these k0Ol blendz, no stealin!" Seriously?! X_x

Finished reading Twilight

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Edward Cullen equals love. I can see what all the fuss was about now, that book was brilliant. I already want to start reading New Moon. :D
I literally couldn't put the book down, it was so good and it tricks the reader by making them fall in love with the character Edward. Vampires have never been so smexy! haha.

I got my hair dyed pink again and also finally got my fringe cut shorter. Its better now, it doesn't attack my eye every time I turn around now. I will put a picture up of me when I can be bothered to take one! I have to wait till the day time to take a pic off my web cam because the lighting isn't all that great. ^^"

I got my exam results, I did pretty good actually. I just had a couple of let downs but I will have to resit a couple of units probably to improve them marks. I'm really proud that I got a B in my English Language exams. :D

I bought that Lucky Star pencil case that I wanted off Ebay! It cost me over £6 which was just over 11 dollars on Ebay. Not so bad considering it was from China and it had to be air mailed!
This is a picture of it, click for a bigger version. Please note that the bunny was not included! haha

That pic was taken on my new bed spread as I got my room decorated at last, and I now have a lock on my door. Any teenager will understand how annoying it is when your little brother doesn't understand that you don't appreciate him walking in unannounced when you are trying to get changed!

This is how my room looks:

I really like the colour on the feature wall, its called raspberry diva! When Chris comes to my house now though he practically drowns in the pinkness! I mean come on, its my favourite colour! :D

I'm going back to college soon, I'm enrolling for my second year on the 29th (this Friday). I'm looking forward to seeing my friends but not to the amount of work I'm going to be getting! :)

The Tinsley towers got knocked down this morning at 3am. I used to be able to see them from my window and now they're gone, it's weird. :/

I wanted to stay up and watch the demolition but I ended up falling asleep at 2am! Luckily John filmed it and added music so you can see what happened!

If you want to know about the towers then click here!

I'm really into AlphaBeat and Katy Perry, you should listen to them! haha I'm know I'm being kind of random but thats what mood I am in. :)

I've signed up for a site of the month so be sure to vote for Kihugs when I put the button up!

I'm off now, take care. xxxx

Ps. Love you Chris. ♥

Reading on a hot day

Saturday, August 09, 2008

Not long till I'm getting my hair dyed! Yay. :) I should probably be thinking about more important things such as the matter of my exam results. :o I'm really hoping for good results but I guess I can only hope. This is the worst part after exams in my opinion, the massive waiting period in which your mental strength is tested. Did you do well? Or did you screw up big time!

I've finished reading, "Angus, thongs and full-frontal snogging" and "It's okay I'm wearing really big knickers" already! It didn't take me that long, so I'm going to order the next book probably pretty soon. It seems like all I do lately is read, it's too hot to go outside.

Chris is coming round tomorrow and we are going to what Lord of the rings the second film. I've already seen the first one. Chris nearly fell backwards and made this "wtf?" kind of face when I said to him that I'd never seen the Lord Of the rings. Its just one of those films that never really interested me when it came out. However, I have seen it in a different light. I kept giggling all the way through the film and making funny voices over the characters. hehe. I have a low attention span sometimes.
Apparently I make cake-faces a lot to according to Chris. They look like this: :3
It's okay, it just means I'm cute right? O_o

Oh well I'm not that bothered, but I can't seem to stop looking at my mouth now! He's made conscious of my cake face. Cake face ftw!
I've been chatting to Shola today on msn, thank God for msn it really is a saviour. I was getting quite bored and then I got a message from her. I was saved! haha

I forgot to mention that my dad has bribed me. He says, for every A I get in my exam results I get a tenner. So that means I could get maximum of £40! Woo!
He said that B's are worth £5 and C's are worth a measly £1. I then said to him wouldn't it have been better if he had bribed me before the exams, but he just said that the thought of money would have made me loose concentration. Pfft!

I still need to start reading "Twilight" apparently it is really good, but I'll be the judge of that haha. :)

I added a new affiliate today, so check out her site.

That's it for today's ramblings.

Bye xxxx

Konnichiwa

Thursday, August 07, 2008

Hiya, I'm back blogging after a little break from the Internet. I'm still really happy with this layout and I've made a tiny alteration. I've changed it from where it used to say interact to now say visitor.

I'm going to be uploading more visitor content, like reads, quizzes etc. The poll of the month is still there so I want you to vote in it as I need a bit of feedback.

I'm still waiting for one review to come through, so far I have two. They haven't scored me to high but I mustn't let it knock my spirits. Personally I believe Kihugs is doing pretty well.

Today I've been busy adding tutorials, so far the tutorial section is my favourite part of the site. I need to fill up the graphics section a bit more as the free layouts aren't particularly great. I felt like making some avatars today, so I made some anime ones! haha. I'll make some different ones sometime but I think celebrity avatars are kind of boring anyway. :p

Samples

Don't claim that they are your own! Credit must be given to Kihugs. I love them, so cute! hehe

I've also been in the mood for making more glitters but I need to think what sayings I could use. Should I use Myspace ones? Here is an sample of the type of glitters I am working on at the moment.

I have put up quite a few! I think they are pretty cute though. I am avoiding having too many different colour versions as they can get boring. You know where you just use the same graphic but make it 10 times again in different colours? I will use the same phrase but try and make them in different colours/styles/fonts. Click the glitters to get the codes. :)

Also here is a cute Sakura glitter, more anime glitters will come soon!

If you can think of any phrases that I should use and make glitters of then please tell me! I will credit your site on the credits page. :)

I am so going to make some anime glitters as well, I have already collected a few cute images that I am planning to use. I swear, my image folder is fit to burst on my computer. :D

I've been busy watching Card Captor Sakura again! I was wondering what to watch and then I thought I'd just re watch the series. Oh and that reminds me! I have added 2 new anime reviews to the visitors section, I plan to add more but I'm afraid I will only add them when I feel like it. It is quite time consuming writing reviews! haha. I've added a Tokyo Mew Mew and a D.N.Angel review.

I'm really glad that people liked my new layout, feels nice to have a change. My old layout was kind of sucky though I must admit. You can see what it looked like in my past layouts section.

Kawaii awards voting is already underway and so far its quite interesting. You can no longer nominate yourself though as voting has already begun so you will have to wait till next season. Exciting! lol.

I'm getting my hair dyed again soon, planning on getting the pink re-done. I love my pink hair, it matches my website haha. :)

Bye bye! xxx

Version 7: Sakura Love

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

[Edit]
Ahh! I'm so smart. Sorry but I am. Haha. I though that I'd never be able to get Kihugs to work with the super big screen size 1152 x 864 but I have. I've fixed the coding on the pages so that the affie/advert/update links don't go zooming of to the left and that there isn''t a big white gap on the right when Kihugs is viewed in larger screens. I've also made it compatible for those annoying 800 x 600 resolutions (yes some people still use them!). I'm shattered! Night. xx
[/End Edit]

I got my first review back from Georgina @ Out The Window and after following some advice from her, plus some of my friends, I redesigned Kihugs. I quite like how this version turned out. Shola said to me that I should design something that I would be happy with, never mind what I think people want. So I didn't do a typical celebrity layout. Changing the topic a bit, I love that render of Sakura at the top! Credits for some the images used in this layout go to here and here. I've updated all my pages, you may need to refresh Kihugs to see the new layout ;) Tell me what you think!
Today has been quite good as I have been busy on Kihugs and just relaxing. You know when its just ones of those days where you want to sleep because its warm. Its such nice weather though, so I might go out tomorrow.
I saw the new batman film yesterday, the Dark Knight, it was awesome. If you're a Batman fan, then you will love that film. haha :3
Bye bye! xxx

Oreos are nice

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Last week was a pretty good week for me. I went out with Shola to Graves Park and we had a laugh. It was such a nice day and we took quite a few pictures which I uploaded on my Myspace of course. It was funny because we got to watch these crazy ducks gang up on this one duck. I kind of felt sorry for it. We also went out and saw the film, "Angus, thongs and perfect snogging". It was a great film and defo one that you should should take your friends to go see. I would just like to say that me and Shola are Stiff Dylans fans and proud. After the film we decided to go and get Myflurrys and I swear we had the dumbest person there serving us. It took him forever to count out 2 pence in change. Seriously, how hard can it be to pull a lever and get ice-cream. I felt like jumping over the counter and fetching them myself! Bad service.

I applied for Kihugs to be reviewed by a couple of sites today and I'm looking forward to what they think of this site! A 3 out of 5 would make me happy to be honest. I've been web-designing for quite a long time and I still get a buzz when one of my college friends mentions Kihugs! :)
I haven't done much else to Kihugs lately, other than join some more fanlistings. I think I'm like addicted to them things. I just love all the cute little buttons haha.

I've just remembered I need to do a review for my Myspace blog on Lucky Star (anime series). Meh, I just write on there when it suits me really. But the blogs on there are considerably different to the ones on Kihugs. Much more about life matters and stuff that I feel comfortable with my friends reading. You know what I mean. :)

Well I'm going now, as yet I again I am blogging in the early hours of the morning.

Bye bye. Mwah. xxxx <3

I want my lolly!

Sunday, July 20, 2008

Ahh! I'm excited. Just been ordering myself a cute necklace. Check him out! He is so cute and small. :3
It seems like all I do lately is Internet shop. Since its the summer holidays I get a little bored in the day and can't resist either logging onto Ebay or Play to see what I can buy! I have to admit I'm hooked when it comes to kawaii jewellery.

I so want this pencil case I've seen on Ebay. It features the funny character Konata Izumi from the anime series Lucky Star. :) She has to be one of my favourite anime characters. In many ways she reminds me of myself, sarcastic but always joking around. Even though Chris says I look like Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket! So you could say that I've got traits of Tohru and Konata. haha :3
I Wouldn't mind being Tohru though seen as she gets to live with Shigure, Yuki and Kyo. I bet that's right fun! Oh and if you don't know what I'm talking about then I suggest you read up on it.

So today has been just a typical day really. I miss Chris abit, as I said before he's gone to Cornwall for a week with his family! Wah. :(
But I won't be bored for too long as I'm having a day out with my bessie Shola. She needs opinions on what she's going to wear to a party. Also we can get McFlurrys again. Choco mint flavour for me! Yum. :p
Last time we had them with a meal just because they were free; you get a free ice cream with your meal if your a college student and you show your student ID card. Pretty good, huh? However we were so full up from the meals that we didn't fancy the ice-cream. But we ate it anyway! Don't you just hate wasting things that you got for free? :s
This time I'm going to save a bit of room so I can eat it all. I love ice cream.
You know what else is nice and I apologise for the random blogging here, smoothies.
I love smoothies. I could just have one now! The one that I have is called Strawberry Squeeze and I swear it is the most yummy smoothie in England. :3
I'm all excited to go out now!
Bye bye!

Success!

Got to feel proud of myself today as I have finally integrated a blogging service with Kihugs. I heard about being able to upload blogs via Blogger to your ftp server and I decided to give it a go. This service is great as now I don't have to manually edit my homepage and then input haloscan onto it to try and make it look like a blog. hehe :)

In case you're wondering how come I didn't just use cutenews, its because my host doesn't provide php. It's not that bad as I don't really have to edit all my pages when uploading something. I'm so happy now as I can blog from college when I go back! :3

Just a quick shout out here to my best friend Shola. She has been my inspiration to keep going and I'd just like to say thanks Shola; I look forward to when you're in the best sellers list. ;D

Today has been a pretty average day. My boyfriend Chris has gone away for a week with his family in Cornwall so I'm gonna miss him. Looks like I'll have the gamecube all to myself.

I'm really happy that so many people have entered over at my site, Kawaii Awards. I've already created the award templates and the voting is due to start at then end of this month. Good Luck everyone!

Hehe, I just had to put this video up. I love Lucky Star. <3
