Okami is made of awesome

Sunday, August 02, 2009

I’m getting my hair cut tomorrow and it’s about time too. My hair is so long now and needs, how should I say it, neatening. I’m also getting it dyed again. I’m having my pink streaks removed and having different tones of brown. I’m going for a sexy brunette kind of look and I think it would go well with my glasses (cue my boyfriend’s glasses fetish). It would also enhance my natural colour, which is always a good thing. Perhaps I’ll put pictures up tomorrow, I don’t know, depends if I can be bothered to take them. I’m not much of a camera lover.

Today I’ve been busy playing on my Nintendo Wii. I’ve been playing this game called Okami (I bought it pre owned for only £20!). It is a really addictive game and I love making little drawings on the screen with my celestial paintbrush. Here’s a quick synopsis of the game:

okami wii“Based on rich and varied Japanese mythology, Okami combines the all action gameplay of the Wii with the most unique and visually stunning game world and characters. Play as the wolf incarnation of the Japanese sun god, Amaterasu, and channel your divine power through the mighty celestial paintbrush to restore beauty and order to a bleak world overrun by evil. Fight against powerful enemies, use the Wii Remote to slash through wood, rock and demon foe. You'll also need to be smart enough to solve puzzles and create images in the game world that will come to life to assist you in your quests”.

It is a stunning game, I love the Japanese drawing style graphics and the music is brilliant. I found myself humming along to the music as I was beating enemies with Amaterasu (or as I call her, Ammy-Chan). If you own a Nintendo Wii, I highly recommend this game as it is really fun. If you enjoy RPG’s, such as The Legend of Zelda series, than this is for you.

Hopefully I’ll manage to pull myself away from gaming long enough to keep you all updated!

My question for today is: Do you own a console (E.g. Xbox, Playstation, Wii) and if so, what are your favourite games for it?

So, I shall say sayonara for now. :)

Sunny weather at last

Monday, March 23, 2009

It's been nice and sunny today which makes a change from the usual cold British weather. While I was in college I kept glancing out of the window in class, wishing that I was outside enjoying the sun rather than inside with it shining through and burning my back.

I thought to myself that even if I was outside instead of working I probably wouldn't get a tan. I have fair skin and I burn very easily. Whenever I go somewhere hot abroad I have to wear SPF50 suncream. Suncream may be sticky and a bit of a chore to put on but I'd rather have that on then be wearing a itchy burn on my face (not a good look!).

Lately I've been playing on my new Nintendo Wii on Animal Crossing: Let's go to the City. I bought a Wii after I came back from New York. I'd been wanting to buy one for a while and I finally had enough money to be able to afford one. Trust me things are not cheap with the current state of Britain's economy!

Below are a couple of pictures I took while I was playing the game. Animal Crossing has this camera feature on it that allows you to take screen shots of the game while your playing it. If you own a SD memory card you can save the pictures to it and then upload them to your computer. Pretty cool huh?

At least I can enjoy the sunny weather on the Wii and catch some butterflies while I'm there. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys RPGs and basically just taking it easy. The game is set at a relaxed pace and has peaceful music that is quite soothing. :)

Another thing I like about the Nintendo Wii is the the cute Mii characters that you can create. A Mii is a little character that is supposed to represent yourself. Here is mine:

I think I got the eyeshadow right! I always wear brightly coloured eyeshadow. I kind of wish I could have customised the hair a bit more, so I could have put my pink streaks in. Oh well. :)

I plan to try and blog everyday. I noticed that at one point I blogged all the time and I really miss doing that. I just seem to get nervous before I post a blog because I think no one will read it!

My questions for you today are:

1) What factor suncream do you wear? Do you burn easily?
2) Do you prefer hot or cold weather? Why?
3) Do you own a Nintendo Wii? Can you recommend me any good games that you like?

Valentines Day Fun!

Sunday, February 15, 2009

Happy Belated Valentines Day! I hope you all had a brilliant day and got loads of chocolates.

I went out with Chris to the cinema and we watched "The curious case of Benjamin Button". It's a good film and it was quite romantic being all snuggled up together watching it. Imagine this typical kind of scene: girl leaning on boy's shoulder, looking into each others eyes, a lot of "I'm so happy right now" faces. Yeah, it was bliss.

I suppose the only thing that ruined it was my bladder. The film was 3 hours long and I'd drank Coke. A lot of Coke. It got to this one scene where water was gushing in all over the floor. Cool, running water. Chris glanced and me and looked quite concerned. I was squirming around like a five year old. I whispered under my breath, "I need to pee" and he tried not to laugh. It was my fault for drinking a lot and Chris just found it highly amusing.

I managed to hold it and we both staggered out of the cinema after the film complaining about how our legs felt numb. Seriously, three hours sat down is no joke. The film was great . It made me tear up in some parts so be warned; if you don't like sad films then don't go and see it.

Chris got me a card for Valentines Day too, it was really sweet of him. This is how our conversation went when he gave it to me:

Chris: This is for you.. (he hands me the card)

Me: Aw thank you! You shouldn't have.. (opens card, laughs at the verse written inside)

Chris: Haha! I knew you'd like it.

Me: I wish I'd got you something now.. but I thought you were like me and didn't buy into all this gimmicky kind of stuff...

Chris: Well.. Valentines Day is for guys anyway.... to express how they feel to their girlfriends.. (blushing)

Me: (Kisses on cheek) Hehehe, thank you.

I honestly thought we were not going to get each other anything but he went out of his way and bought me a card and wrote a nice message inside.

It made me forget for a moment about how Valentines Day is so commercialized and made me think of all the good things about my relationship with Chris. It made me think about how happy he makes me feel and that he always makes me laugh.

I agree with people that you cannot put a price on love but when your partner makes you something or treats you to something silly (like a chocolate bar) it makes you think about how they can make you happy with even the smallest gesture. :)

I promise to not bore you with any more mushyness now! But yeah, I'm young and in love.

Today has been quite uneventful for me. I've been playing on my GameBoy on this game called "Hamtaro: Ham Ham Heartbreak". It's about little Hamsters that are falling out of love and you have to rescue their love for each other. All together now! Awwww. :)

I've decided to video cover the game as a sort of little walk through to test out this recording software I have.

Cute isn't it? Well Aside from Hamtaro's weird squeak. :/

Well look out for more cute gaming videos because I made a YouTube channel specifically for my gaming addiction.

Some questions for you before I go:

1) Did you have a good Valentines Day? What did you do that was fun?

2) Do you have a favourite game? What is it?

3) My blog post wasn't too mushy? Was it?! -_-

Bye for now

Yatta! I did it!

Wednesday, November 05, 2008

Why do college days always go so slow but when I get home my evening always goes by so quick. It's Sod's law I tell you.

I've been playing Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for Nintendo DS quite a bit recently. I love my DS it always helps pass the time when I am bored and have nothing to do! I've always been a Zelda fan ever since I got introduced to it by a friend. I bought Twilight Princess for the Gamecube and Chris lent me Windwaker too.

We can spend ages playing through the games together. He always helps me complete the parts I get stuck on and then I do the parts he gets stuck on. We're like this ultimate gaming team when it comes to Zelda.

It was a shame when I got stuck at one part in the game and Chris wasn't around. No matter how much I tortured myself over trying to figure out this puzzle, it just wasn't happening. So I calmly placed my DS down and decided that I would return to it later.

"Yatta!"
I managed to get past the part that I was finding difficult; a few minutes ago to be precise. I'm really happy now!

Now I know how Hiro feels when he arrives in New York for the first time.. ;)

I always find that if I can't do something the first time around, after I've had a break from it I can usually do it when I come back to the game.

Speaking of Heroes, the episode tonight was epic. I mean I'm literally on the edge of my seat every time I watch it. I'm such a Heroes fan girl, I even have a shirt! *blushes*

I managed to get all my homework for archaeology done today, it feels good when you accomplish a task. :)

Some questions for you:

1) Do you own a Nintendo DS/other game console? What is you favourite game for it?
2) Do you watch any TV shows, what is your favourite?
3) Do you normally complete homework as soon as you get it or do you procrastinate sometimes like me?

xx
