My 19th Birthday and other things

Monday, January 25, 2010

Sorry about the late blog post! :) It’s been a while since I wrote my last post (hence the embarrassed picture of Tsukasa), the new year has been keeping me busy so far. I’m afraid that when I go back to university on Thursday I will become even busier (there goes all my free gaming time!). Since my last post I revised for and took exams, as you can imagine that stopped me from doing many of the things I enjoy. One of the exams was about Language and Communication the other was Social Interaction. I hope I have done okay in them as I am not a big fan of exams (hey, who is?), I much prefer writing essays as I can put more thought into them. I have also been spending time with Chris as when we are busy with work we don’t have as much time together. We had to make the most of the free time we had!

On the 21st it was my 19th birthday and I had a brilliant day. I didn’t ask for anything in particular as a present from my parents so my mum took me on a shopping spree. She bought me Bare Escentuals makeup (2 kits worth!), Clinique skin care products and clothes from Jane Norman (jeans, a top and a coat) and H&M (a cute dress). My brother Greg bought me a white bag, a scarf and some sweet pearl bracelets. By the time I came home I was exhausted from all the shopping but still very excited.  Shopping is so fun with my mum.

Chris then came to my house later and gave me some presents from him and his parents. He had bought me four lovely rings from Wallis, the new Lost Prophets CD (The Betrayed), some sweets in a mushroom, a Zelda toy and his parents had bought me two Fruits Basket mangas. I was over the moon to say the least. He really knows my tastes. Thank you Chris!

I have to say though the best thing about birthdays is cake, I had a yummy chocolate cake for mine. However I would have preferred one of mum’s home made ones. Oh well, just means I will have to pester her to make one or make one myself!

I saw the Sherlock Holmes film with Chris as well. It was pretty good, not one of the best films I’ve seen but definitely one you should watch at home. I’m only trying to save you money on the price for tickets. Students like me have to budget things (yeah right, I bought Tales of Symphonia 2 for the Wii a few days ago not to mention all the manga I’ve bought…).  :)

Tales of Symphonia 2 is a good game though and that is what I’ve been playing lately (along with Muramasa). I made a gaming page for you to see what games I own and also what I am currently playing. You should check that out. I own more games for the Gamecube and DS but I couldn’t be bothered to list them all! *laziness* I do plan to write reviews for games but I think I will leave that for until I get further into the game. Sometimes my opinion changes the more I play a game. You will just have to wait and see.

I’ve been reading a lot of manga lately too, including Fruits Basket. I love the manga, it is so much better than the anime (well most mangas are!). I should probably read more intellectual books but sometimes I prefer a book that is light and doesn’t require too much concentration. I bet you are slowing losing your confidence in me as an English Language university student. I am a good student (honest!) it’s just I’ve been on this break too long. My body clock is all messed up.

Oh and before I forget here are the Emu boots I mentioned in my last post. They are super warm and perfect for keeping my feet snug. I recommend them to anyone who loves good quality boots.

Awesome boots.

Right I think I have sufficiently ranted on here, if you read all of this post you have earned yourself a cyber cookie. Enjoy! I expect my next post will come a lot sooner than this one has. :)

Bye for now.

Say hello to 2010

Friday, January 01, 2010

Happy New Year everyone!! I’m sure you are all sick of hearing that by now. We have all waved goodbye to 2009 and hopefully we will welcome 2010 with open arms. I’m just happy because now I can say the year twenty ten (you know that sounds cool!). I have been busy looking through my old blog archives to compile a list of good times from last year. It’s amazing how many things I have forgotten, thanks for saving me archives!  So here is my list of all the good things that happened in 2009 (including links to blog posts!):

2009 seems like it was a busy year for me and I hope that 2010 is going to be just as good and hopefully even better. I don’t usually make resolutions as I never seem to be able to stick to them or I forget them (my memory is terrible). This year I want to study hard for university to make the most out of it and I also want to cut back on the sweets I eat (this one is going to be tough!). So what are you new years resolutions and do you think you’re going to stick to them?

Oh and just before I go I would like to say:

Happy Birthday Chris!

It’s my boyfriend’s 19th birthday today! I’m going to go to his house later and give him his presents/cards. :)

So once more I’m going to say Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a good 2009 and I hope this year is even better for you all.

xxx

PS. My new Emu boots came today. I will post pictures in my next blog!

Christmas 2009

Monday, December 28, 2009

Well Christmas is finally over, everyone can be free to breathe at last. I managed to get all of my Christmas shopping done on time and people were happy with what I’d got them so that was a big relief. I’m kind of sad really that Christmas passes by so quick as everyone is usually happier this time of year and I love all the decorations etc. But I don’t enjoy buying presents not because of the expense but because of the hectic shops where old grannies shove me and I have to watch out for prams running me over. Honestly if I could just get all of my presents of the Internet I would, but you can never really rely on the postal service around the winter season.

I got some brilliant gifts this year and I was surprised! I hadn’t really asked for many things in particular as I prefer to be surprised and after all it’s the thought that counts. So because I’m so nice I decided to take pictures to make this blog just that little bit better. First I will show you the pictures of what my mum and dad bought me as well as what my brother gave me.

One of the first gifts I opened was this lovely DKNY perfume called Be Delicious. It is so cute and looks just like a little green apple. It smells absolutely gorgeous! It came with a moisturiser as well that smells just like the perfume so now my hands can stay nice and soft while also smelling lovely.

 Be Delicious by DKNY

My parents also bought me some Philip Kingsley products as well as a Philip Kingsley paddle brush. I love these sort of gifts that are really useful. The brush feels super soft and doesn’t make my hair statically charged (an annoying side effect of plastic hair brushes *shudder*).

Philip Kingsley products from my parents.

Pictures below are some more presents from my parents including: some more perfume, the film Confessions of a Shopaholic and the book The time traveler’s wife. It’s a tradition every Christmas for my mum to buy me a Chick Flick to watch. It would be nice if I could get round to reviewing some of the chick flicks in my collection but it might take me a long time!

More presents from my parents.

My parents also got me this cute love heart watch and a little handbag.

presents from my parents.

They also bought me games of course! My brother bought me Muramasa.  Pictured here is Mini Ninja’s, Muramasa The Demon Blade and Broken Sword. This satisfies my gaming needs.

presents from my parents.

My mum bought me these sweet pyjamas too. I love the little polar bears on them.

So that just about wraps up (pardon the pun!) what my mum and dad bought me. The other gifts I got which I didn’t take pictures of were a new coat, a cream jumper from Jane Norman and a white scarf and gloves set.

I also got some amazing gifts from my boyfriend Chris and his parents. Pictured below is what Chris bought me. Some yummy Thornton's chocolates, a cute skull necklace, a Fruits Basket sticker book and the full Heroes box set (Squee!). He really knows my tastes! Thank you so much Chris!!

Gifts from my boyfriend Chris. :)

Chris’s parents also got me a great gift and I was really surprised that Chris told them I liked Robin Hood. They bought me the box set for the first series.

So that is all the presents I received this Christmas I also got sweets and a some chocolates but don’t expect to see pictures of them (they didn’t last long!).

Christmas day was brilliant, after opening all the presents we had our Christmas lunch in the conservatory. My mum had put heaters in to warm it up so we were all nice and toasty. I loved spending time like that with my family. Me and my brother Greg were having a good laugh. Later we all snuggled in the living room and watched a few films.

I hoped you all had a good Christmas too!

Christmas time, mistletoe and wine.

Tuesday, December 08, 2009

It is hard for me to begin writing a blog post after so long away from my website. I was sat at home today nearly falling asleep and just I was drifting in and out of my sleepy haze I thought: "Hmm, I haven't blogged in a while... ugh I shouldn't have eaten all those sugary cola bottles". Maybe you should forget that last part and maybe I shouldn't eat so many sweets. My dentist is going to have a fun time... Eek!

November has been a busy month for work, as I said in my last post I was writing an essay about human language. I managed to finish it and hand it in on time. I haven't yet received my mark for it but when I get it back I shall post it up here. I tried my best so I am really hoping for a good mark but if I pass I suppose I will be happy enough. Well I enjoyed writing it at the very least.

Also on the subject of university work, I completed a group presentation. It wasn't too bad apart from the fact I got slightly flustered and embarrassed. Hopefully no-one noticed even though I felt like my face was on fire and my heart was going to burst out of my chest. I don't enjoy speaking in front of a load of people, for some reason it makes me all nervous and I can't seem to say anything right.

University has been taking up a lot of my time but I do feel like I am finally getting settled there. I am finding my way around easily and I have already made some brilliant friends. It's a great big confidence boost as far as I'm concerned and gives me something to work towards. Now all I need to do is pass my driving test and my life will be complete. Speaking of driving I have had over 35 hours of driving experience so it shouldn't be too long now before I take my test. I'm getting excited just thinking about it (haha!).

I saw the film New Moon in November too and I found it to be pretty enjoyable. Then again, I'm not a hardcore film critic and I never will be. Bear in mind this is coming from a girl who loves chick flicks. So I recommend it to anyone who likes having a giggle and watching cool CGI wolves (I just love wolves). Chris took me to see it and I got to snuggle up with him which is always a plus.

Christmas is well and truly upon us now and I have been trying and failing at getting my shopping done. I just don't like being swamped in the shopping centre. But what I do love about Christmas is all the decorations, yummy home baking, presents, songs and ... mistletoe. I need to get some of that to ambush Chris with! I'm just joking, honest!

So I'm sorry for being away for so long and I shall try to keep up with my posts. Oh and just before I go, tell me one thing you like about Christmas. I want to compile a list! hehe :)

Am I being too modest?

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

I love trying out the image effects on this blogging software, just been amusing myself with it for the past half hour. Hence the picture on the left. It has a “Polaroid effect” on it.

Today in English Language we were analysing children’s books and how they are written. For example, looking at the sentence structure, layout on the page and semantic fields.

It brought back memories of my dad reading to me when I was younger. He used to read me a story every night until I could read better than him!

I’m really proud that I got interested in reading from a young age, I think it helped fuel my passion for writing.

Yesterday I was asked to read one of my pieces of writing out to the class. I was super nervous and I insisted that my piece was lame and not worth reading out. I was graded an A+ on that piece. It was a review of a made-up novel entitled ‘Jack and Jill’ (like the nursery rhyme).

I have no idea why I put myself down like that, I think its just because of the pressure of reading it out made me feel nervous and embarrassed. My hands were shaking and my voice was wobbling.

Part of my review contained an ‘extract’ from the made-up book which was sort of a mushy scene detailing how Jill first fell in love with Jack. In all honesty I was just describing me and my boyfriend Chris. I wrote about how Jill loved Jack’s cheeky smile (which is what I love about Chris!). Maybe because I was thinking about Chris that is what made me blush.

It’s strange how I managed to relate something back to my boyfriend in that piece even though I wasn’t particularly thinking about him at the time.

When I get my work back I will put the review on here so you can see it for yourselves. :)

My question for  today is:

Have you ever been in a similar situation where you have felt embarrassed or nervous and how did you deal with it?

New York tomorrow

Friday, February 27, 2009

Well, if you haven't already read from my friend Flow's blog at The Syrup, I am going to "New York New York" tomorrow. I'm sorry for not blogging in a while, I've been busy packing and all that jazz.

I got my toiletries and undies all packed, plus the Chelsea shirt that Chris has lent me. I've just got to put my clothes in and I'm all sorted. I will be leaving for New York tomorrow morning at 6:00 AM (GMT) and I am not looking forward to that early start!

I will be going with my friend Flow as well as other Media and Film A-level students who we know. It will be a good experience and I can't wait to get off that plane and take my first steps in that amazing place.

To me New York is a city I have only seen in films, like a set. It has this glamorous feel about it and makes me feel like I will be walking on one of the most famous sets of all time.

I will take lots of pictures and video the trip so you will be able to see how much I enjoyed myself.

I am going to miss Chris a lot, it's one of the longest times I have been without any contact at all from him. Phone calls cost a lot overseas so I won't be able to phone him or my parents. He will be able to keep up to date with my antics on the New York Blog:

That's the address above if you want to check it out. :)

Well I will say goodbye for now!

I will miss you all and look forward to blogging about it when I come back (haha!).

Lot's of love,

Hugs and Kisses.

Valentines Day Fun!

Sunday, February 15, 2009

Happy Belated Valentines Day! I hope you all had a brilliant day and got loads of chocolates.

I went out with Chris to the cinema and we watched "The curious case of Benjamin Button". It's a good film and it was quite romantic being all snuggled up together watching it. Imagine this typical kind of scene: girl leaning on boy's shoulder, looking into each others eyes, a lot of "I'm so happy right now" faces. Yeah, it was bliss.

I suppose the only thing that ruined it was my bladder. The film was 3 hours long and I'd drank Coke. A lot of Coke. It got to this one scene where water was gushing in all over the floor. Cool, running water. Chris glanced and me and looked quite concerned. I was squirming around like a five year old. I whispered under my breath, "I need to pee" and he tried not to laugh. It was my fault for drinking a lot and Chris just found it highly amusing.

I managed to hold it and we both staggered out of the cinema after the film complaining about how our legs felt numb. Seriously, three hours sat down is no joke. The film was great . It made me tear up in some parts so be warned; if you don't like sad films then don't go and see it.

Chris got me a card for Valentines Day too, it was really sweet of him. This is how our conversation went when he gave it to me:

Chris: This is for you.. (he hands me the card)

Me: Aw thank you! You shouldn't have.. (opens card, laughs at the verse written inside)

Chris: Haha! I knew you'd like it.

Me: I wish I'd got you something now.. but I thought you were like me and didn't buy into all this gimmicky kind of stuff...

Chris: Well.. Valentines Day is for guys anyway.... to express how they feel to their girlfriends.. (blushing)

Me: (Kisses on cheek) Hehehe, thank you.

I honestly thought we were not going to get each other anything but he went out of his way and bought me a card and wrote a nice message inside.

It made me forget for a moment about how Valentines Day is so commercialized and made me think of all the good things about my relationship with Chris. It made me think about how happy he makes me feel and that he always makes me laugh.

I agree with people that you cannot put a price on love but when your partner makes you something or treats you to something silly (like a chocolate bar) it makes you think about how they can make you happy with even the smallest gesture. :)

I promise to not bore you with any more mushyness now! But yeah, I'm young and in love.

Today has been quite uneventful for me. I've been playing on my GameBoy on this game called "Hamtaro: Ham Ham Heartbreak". It's about little Hamsters that are falling out of love and you have to rescue their love for each other. All together now! Awwww. :)

I've decided to video cover the game as a sort of little walk through to test out this recording software I have.

Cute isn't it? Well Aside from Hamtaro's weird squeak. :/

Well look out for more cute gaming videos because I made a YouTube channel specifically for my gaming addiction.

Some questions for you before I go:

1) Did you have a good Valentines Day? What did you do that was fun?

2) Do you have a favourite game? What is it?

3) My blog post wasn't too mushy? Was it?! -_-

Bye for now

My 18th Birthday

Monday, February 02, 2009

I'm 18 years old now and I feel old. Well actually I feel the same as what I did when I was 17.

I'm happy because, legally, I am an adult. I can get into 18 rated films and when I get asked for my ID I can just show my provisional driving license and stick my tongue out (that last part probably is not that mature!). Yay, go me! \(^.^)/

My birthday was on the 21st of January (last month!), I had a great day and got a few little surprises. My main presents were the trip to Castleton and New York (which I'm going to on the 28th of February).

I got a yummy pink cake, how very fitting for me.

Castleton on the following Friday (23rd January) was brilliant. Me and Chris stayed in a little apartment like room across from The Castle pub. The weather was quite good as well, it was dry but cold. I'm just glad it didn't rain!

We looked around shops and Chris bought me this gorgeous necklace (I wear it everyday!). We also had lots of nice meals including a big pub meal the night we got there. The next day we had chips and gravy which was so nice because it was cold outside.

I would love to go again. Maybe we'll go somewhere together again someday.

My questions for you are:

1) Have you ever been away with your partner/friends?
2)Where did you go and what was the most memorable event that happened there?
3)What is your favourite holiday destination?

Excited for Castleton

Sunday, January 18, 2009

I'm excited because its my 18th birthday next week on Wednesday. I will be able to legally drink (not that I've been drinking anyway *shifty eyes*).

I'm going out for a meal with my family on my actual birthday and on Friday I'm going away with Chris to Castleton for a one night stay in The Castle hotel.

The above picture is one I got off Wikipedia just so I can show you roughly what The Castle hotel looks like. We have a great view from there, you can see the Peveril Castle from where we're staying.

I'm really looking forward to going with him because it will be our first time staying out together as a couple and also because I love the countryside (its so romantic). It will be nice to get away from the city smell for a while.

Castleton is a lovely place and really peaceful. My favourite place has to be The Three Roofs Cafe; you can get a proper cup of tea there and the carrot cake is gorgeous.

We've both agreed that we will turn our phones off so that no one interrupts our time together. Seriously whenever we're alone Chris gets loads of calls and texts so this time his friends are in for a shock. :)

As I've already said, we will be going on Friday in the evening. We will have a meal there and stay over that night. Then we'll do some exploring on Saturday morning. Hopefully Chris won't make me walk too far (well if he does he can just carry me :P).

I'm taking my camera so I'll post lots of pictures up on my Flickr account and my Facebook for those who have added me on there.

If you want to find out more about Castleton you can click on these links:

1) Derbyshire Guide
2) Wikipedia article

My question for you today is:

What do you prefer? The city or the countryside? and why?

Bye for now

My December blog

Monday, December 29, 2008

Hiya! I'm finally blogging; it feels like ages since I was last here. With the holidays well in swing I haven't had much time to spare to come on my blog, but I'm here now. I want to make up for my absence so I'm going to do a massive blog to compensate.

December has been a good month for me, I've felt like I've finally been able to relax a little bit. My university applications have been sent off which has gotten rid of some pressure.

On the 19th of December I went to another friends 18th birthday party, it was a fancy dress. I didn't have a brilliant costume due to money being an issue (Christmas really straps you for cash huh?) but I decided that I would be a 'Vampire'. This decision was made as soon as I had seen the film Twilight earlier that day. It was brilliant and I think the film definitely did the book justice.

This is a picture from my friends 18th. His name is Kurt and he is on the far left, my boyfriend Chris is in the middle (wearing a tie), I am on the far right and Kurt's girlfriend (also one of my best friends) Lottie is on the bottom wearing a cool hat. :)

It was a great night, the buffet was yummy, we all had drinks and got into the Christmas spirit. The dance that got everyone up, was (surprise surprise) the Macarena! There must be something about that song that people cannot resist. Literally everyone and their mum knows the dance moves.

The 19th of December was also my best friend Shola's 18th birthday. So we wished her a happy birthday while we were all at Kurt's party. She has to be one of the best dancers when she's had a bit to drink, love you Shoals!

Shola and me at Kurt's party, don't mind the cider in front of us. I prefer alco-pops. :)

After the party Chris came back to my house, we were both a bit tipsy so we decided it would be best if he stopped over. We both shared my small single bed. At first it didn't work as we were fighting over who got the most room/quilt/pillow but I fell asleep on his chest. So Chris ended up being my pillow.

My dad asked me if Chris sharing my bed was a practice run for when we go away together on my birthday and I replied, "Put it this way dad, if he'd snored last night we wouldn't be going away together". Snoring is my one true foe.

In the run up to Christmas I was busy buying last minute Christmas presents and giving presents to people.

I couldn't sleep on Christmas Eve, I'm like a little kid.

Christmas Day was great, as it always is. I had loads of presents, much more than what I expected! Do you like our tree? It is one of three trees.

Among the many presents I received I got a new digital camcorder and pink She hair straighteners. My mum and dad got me lots of surprises so I was really happy.

Chris bought me a huge teddy (his name is Charlie), a Lost Prophets CD and a book by Stephenie Meyer called The Host. He knows me well!

I stayed in pajamas for most of the day and didn't even bother getting changed when Chris came up. Don't worry, I did shower and change after ten minutes of him being at my house.

We decided to watch The Dark Knight together, which is an awesome film by the way. I could see Chris from the corner of my eye paying more attention to me than the film. It was very distracting the way he picked my hand up and did that kissing up the arm thing.

I was like, look Chris you're cute and all but I'm trying to focus on Batman here (who sounded like he had a sore throat through all of the film; someone give that guy a lozenge!).

I had to balance giving Chris snuggles and watching the Joker being crazy. I thought to myself, maybe all the Joker needed was a snuggle...and makeup tips.

Boxing day was my sleepy day in which we had beef for dinner. It was so nice. :)

I also watched The Little Mermaid on DVD, which is one of my all time favourite Disney films.

I would like to wish everyone who reads my blog, Happy Holidays! I hope you had a good Christmas like me. Also thank you to my affiliates for the cute Christmas gifts!

My questions before I sign off are:

1) How was your Christmas?

2) What was the best thing about your Christmas?

3) What was your favourite present?

4) Do you have any plans for New years eve and New Years day?

My answers:

1) In one word: Brilliant.

2) Being with the ones I love. :)

3) My camcorder. Thanks mum and dad!

4) Might chill with some friends on New Years eve. New Years day is Chris' birthday. ^_^

Bye for now.

Snark

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Chris came to my house today. It was good because I've not been feeling to well lately and he cheered me up. It's shame when he has to go home because we can literally talk for hours! The picture represents me when I have to say goodbye to Chris. :)

This is a short blog because I just thought I'd promote the forum I use. It's called Snark and it was made by Jacky of Dubious.nu.

There are nice people there who can help you with any problems you may have, be it personal or web-related. They are also really funny!

I hope I can see you there. 'Night!

Heart-shaped crisp

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Apparently I look like Tohru Honda from the anime Fruits Basket. Maybe it's because of my hair style, the fact I have blue eyes and I think bunnies are cute.

Tonight I've been busy filling in my University application on the UCAS website.

It has been a working progress really from a few weeks ago, but you can edit your application online before you send it. I was just adding my final adjustments. Now all I have to do is paste in my personal statement; a short piece of writing in which you effectively "sell yourself" to the Universities you are applying too.

I can't wait to get my application finished and sent off. It will just be one less thing on my list of tasks.

I already have all my coursework to deal with and not to mention studying for my actual exams.

I know it will all pay off eventually when I (hopefully) get excepted into a University. I just have to keep working hard and try not to get behind!

It's easy said than done, especially when there are so many other fun things I'd rather be doing (like going out with Chris). I really need to work on controlling my short attention span.

Speaking of Chris, I did see him today. We went to lunch together so I got to spend an hour with him. We're in the same college and don't see each other often so it's good when we have a break together to have a laugh. I'm glad I was optimistic today, maybe it's the influence of Shugo Chara!

Chris sent me a funny picture today of this heart-shaped crisp he found:

If you tilt your head to the left you can just about see it. :)

Cute, huh? He said it reminded him of me....

and then he ate it. :(

I suppose the way to a man's heart is through his stomach right. ^_^;

Hope you all had a great day and thank you for answering my blog questions.

I've got some more for you:

1) What do you normally blog about? e.g. personal stuff
2) What year are you in at "school"? Have you left perhaps?
3)What are your career goal(s)?

My answers are:

1) I blog about anything that randomly pops into my head!
2) I'm currently in my final year of college and am applying to University.
3) I want to be either a Teacher or a Journalist.

Magicle x Miracle

Sunday, November 16, 2008

I'm blogging late again, no surprises here then. :)

I went to Meadowhall yesterday with Chris and I bought new Manga. One of them is called "Magical x Miracle" and its about this girl called Merleawe who hopes to become the best at magic. Its a good read and has quite a bit of humor in it so I'm glad I bought it; I'm probably going to buy the volume 2 next weekend.

I really need to be saving my money for Christmas presents though but I always end up seeing something I want. Whether it be Manga or a DVD.

I wouldn't class myself as a "Shopaholic". I think you need a few fancy credit cards to become one of them and buy several sets of one thing in different colours. Like buying the same dress in different colours for every occasion! (insert happy noise here).

Meadowhall was as packed as I thought it would be. We were defiantly lucky to find a a seat in the food court aka pigs feeding trough. Yum.

You have to literally pounce on an open table as soon as you see someone leaving it. People start to get nervous as "sharks with food trays" swarm around them and as soon as any holes in their defense appear...BAM! Ten pre-teens hop on your table and start discussing who got "totally smashed" that weekend.

Its a crazy place I tell you. I wonder why no one has been crushed there yet by the sheer amount of people.

College tomorrow. I don't feel well so I don't want to go but at least I only have one lesson. I can surely get through that.

Here are some questions for you:

1) Where do you normally go to shop and what is it like there?
2) What are your spending habits like: Do you prefer to save or "flash the cash"?
3) Have you bought all your Christmas presents yet or are you going to leave it till the last minute? :)

My mum is the best

Friday, November 14, 2008

Well I'm super happy with the feedback I've received regarding Kihugs' new layout. Thank you everyone. Its feels nice to know my work is an improvement and I'm proud of the change I've made.

I finally got rid of that notion that I had to make my blog conform to at least a few things. For example, having an image map and large header image. *shudder*

Everything on this layout is credited to me and now I can't be called a hypocrite when I rant on about illegal use of celebrity images.

Today has been good. My friends from my media class have been looking at Kihugs and they were actually impressed. I was like, "Wow, you like my site?" Insert big cheesy grin. :)
That class rocks.

Thanks to Elliott for promoting Kihugs and I know your reading this because you admitted you were a regular visitor. haha!

I'm glad its the weekend; finally I'll be able to sleep in.

Well I'm going shopping tomorrow with Chris, so I need to actually get up. I plan to buy a small diary (with dates in it!) so I can actually organize my hectic social life (haha as if!).

My mum is nagging to be mentioned in my blog. So here you go mum, this is a special mention just for you:

My mum is awesome and also she sends me hilarious joke texts. I mean, surely no ones mum can top that. She has a witty sense of humor too, I guess I get my personality from her.

She also makes a yummy egg on toast sandwich. Yes. Be jealous. :)

Well, I'm signing off now. I shall return (like a curry after you eat it, trust me they haunt you). ;)

Much love

Yatta! I did it!

Wednesday, November 05, 2008

Why do college days always go so slow but when I get home my evening always goes by so quick. It's Sod's law I tell you.

I've been playing Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for Nintendo DS quite a bit recently. I love my DS it always helps pass the time when I am bored and have nothing to do! I've always been a Zelda fan ever since I got introduced to it by a friend. I bought Twilight Princess for the Gamecube and Chris lent me Windwaker too.

We can spend ages playing through the games together. He always helps me complete the parts I get stuck on and then I do the parts he gets stuck on. We're like this ultimate gaming team when it comes to Zelda.

It was a shame when I got stuck at one part in the game and Chris wasn't around. No matter how much I tortured myself over trying to figure out this puzzle, it just wasn't happening. So I calmly placed my DS down and decided that I would return to it later.

"Yatta!"
I managed to get past the part that I was finding difficult; a few minutes ago to be precise. I'm really happy now!

Now I know how Hiro feels when he arrives in New York for the first time.. ;)

I always find that if I can't do something the first time around, after I've had a break from it I can usually do it when I come back to the game.

Speaking of Heroes, the episode tonight was epic. I mean I'm literally on the edge of my seat every time I watch it. I'm such a Heroes fan girl, I even have a shirt! *blushes*

I managed to get all my homework for archaeology done today, it feels good when you accomplish a task. :)

Some questions for you:

1) Do you own a Nintendo DS/other game console? What is you favourite game for it?
2) Do you watch any TV shows, what is your favourite?
3) Do you normally complete homework as soon as you get it or do you procrastinate sometimes like me?

xx

First day / LBD

Monday, November 03, 2008

First day back at college today, well more like first lesson back at college.

I love Mondays because I don't start college while 2:30 pm. How brilliant is that? I get to sleep in bed till about 9, which is considered a lay in for me, and then spend the morning doing whatever I want.

I took half of the "sweet hoard" into college today and people looked confused when I randomly threw them a bag of Haribos. It looked like I was making sweets magically appear. Which is of course true, seen as I have a Mary Poppins bag and all. I seem to be able to fit everything and anything into my bag. It's like a bottomless pit, either that or I just carry too much stuff.

My English Language lesson flew by and I soon found myself walking out of college.

While I was in the car my phone rang, it was Chris. I couldn't hear him at first so I just sat there saying, "hello? hello?? heellllooo?".

It went all fuzzy on the phone and then his voice boomed in my eardrum saying, "WHERE ARE YOU?"; my eyes practically bashed together in their sockets.

"I'm in the car just near my house" I replied in a timid voice, scared that he was going to break the speaker on my phone.

Turns out he was just calling to ask if I was still up for going to Meadowhall; he needed to buy a book that he'd pre-ordered.

So I spent most of my afternoon at Meadowhall which, thankfully, wasn't packed with millions of shoppers doing Christmas shopping. I hate having to fight my way through bags and other dangerous obstacles, such as prams! I swear prams are designed to run teenagers over.

We went to Waterstones and picked up the book he wanted. It was a History book about Russia that he had to read for his coursework. I'm jealous that he knows so much about History and I don't. In school I was always rubbish at History, probably because I spent most of my time doodling or staring out of the window.

After we had finished looking around Meadowhall we went to Pizza Hut, I was starving after all that walking around. My mouth was watering before we even walked through the door. I love pizza, but that's not a good thing.

Whilst in Pizza Hut, Chris asked me to a restaurant called The Venus for his 18th birthday, which is on New Years Day. I happily agreed but in the back of my mind sulked.

Venus = I have to wear my Little Black Dress (LBD).

LBD = less pizzas if I want to still fit in it.

Even though I'm a size 8/10 I'm always worried about gaining weight. I need to cut down on all this tasty junk food if I want to look good for his 18th and most importantly impress his parents.

At least we walked home, so maybe I burnt off some calories then. I seriously doubt it though seen as I scoffed some custard creams. I think I'm being to hopeful.

So all in all I had a good day, well spending time with Chris and my friends is always good.

Oh! Before I go...

I've been nagged to post pictures of myself with the new haircut but, in my opinion, I am not photogenic at all. Oh well, here goes:

Chris is cute though...

I've just noticed the time stamp of this post (11:48 PM!), cutting it a bit close aren't I!

Goodnight. xx
