Tearful films. :’(
Monday, November 02, 2009
I watched the film ‘Save the Last Dance’ today. It is a sad film about a girl whose mother has died in an accident and how, through finding love, she pursued her dream of being a prima ballerina.
I always say to myself during these types of films that I will not cry but when sad music comes on (and I think about what would happen if it was me in that situation) the tears begin to well up. I guess it is just because I have come to care for the characters so it hurts to see them upset. Its like they have become real people rather than just characters. I suppose those are the makings of a good film though, right?
Some people feel embarrassed when they cry during a sad film. Personally I don’t think it is embarrassing to show a bit of emotion. After all I don’t have a swinging brick for a heart. I’m actually a pretty sensitive person when it comes to sad films.
I remember when me and Chris first saw the film ‘Marley & Me’. Anything to do with animals being hurt or someone losing a pet always makes me cry!
Maybe I’m weak-willed like that… (^.^);;
Have you watched any tearful films lately?
And what do you think to people crying during sad films? Do you cry?
Feel free to share your stories below.

Save the last dance never made me cry, more so laugh because she can't really dance well. I mean at the end she can...really well. But When she's learning in that club it's just embarrassing. :S
But I fell your pain about animals dying, they are innocents and always nice or misunderstood. Them dying in films, including cartoons is just sad. <3
Aw, that sounds like a really sad movie. I never saw it before, but maybe I will now. I don't think that it is embarrassing to cry while watching a movie, like you said, it never hurts to show a bit of emotion.
No, I haven't watched any tearful films lately.
I sometimes cry if the movie is really sad.
Have a great day!
Save the Last Dance...ohh, I haven't seen that movie in such a long time! XD I can't really remember much.
But, I cry at the dumbest sad moments in movies. (Whereas when I watched the Titanic, I didn't shed a tear...)
I always tear up when I watch the Lion King (when the dad dies ;~;). I even cry when I read sad books, at times. Usually if anything happens to the characters pet or something D:
I came across your blog from Dayna's twitter list of bloggers :) I love your layout -- and I'll be checking back soon ^.^
