Excited for Castleton
Sunday, January 18, 2009
I'm excited because its my 18th birthday next week on Wednesday. I will be able to legally drink (not that I've been drinking anyway *shifty eyes*).
I'm going out for a meal with my family on my actual birthday and on Friday I'm going away with Chris to Castleton for a one night stay in The Castle hotel.
The above picture is one I got off Wikipedia just so I can show you roughly what The Castle hotel looks like. We have a great view from there, you can see the Peveril Castle from where we're staying.
I'm really looking forward to going with him because it will be our first time staying out together as a couple and also because I love the countryside (its so romantic). It will be nice to get away from the city smell for a while.
Castleton is a lovely place and really peaceful. My favourite place has to be The Three Roofs Cafe; you can get a proper cup of tea there and the carrot cake is gorgeous.

We've both agreed that we will turn our phones off so that no one interrupts our time together. Seriously whenever we're alone Chris gets loads of calls and texts so this time his friends are in for a shock. :)
As I've already said, we will be going on Friday in the evening. We will have a meal there and stay over that night. Then we'll do some exploring on Saturday morning. Hopefully Chris won't make me walk too far (well if he does he can just carry me :P).
I'm taking my camera so I'll post lots of pictures up on my Flickr account and my Facebook for those who have added me on there.
If you want to find out more about Castleton you can click on these links:

My question for you today is:
What do you prefer? The city or the countryside? and why?
Bye for now

Sounds highly romantic! I hope you two have a great time together =P
I prefer the city, without a doubt -- but maybe I feel that way because I'm from a small town. The excitement, the nightlife, the accessibility... so much to do, so much diversity! I'd love to move permanently to the city -- although I have to admit that the quietness of the countryside can be very soothing.
That sounds like a lot of fun!
Personally I prefer the countryside, it's so much nicer and so very quiet :)
That looks really nice, have a fun time!
I prefer... in between (which is where I am). There aren't really many stores nearby country houses, and you can't always get Wifi XD, but there is to much traffic in cities, and they can get pretty dirty. Maybe I'd like small cities though.
Mmmm that hotel looks super romantic! I'd love to visit it someday :)!! xxx You're definately a lucky girl to go there as a bday treat ;)! Happy Early Bday :D!! xxx
